Absolutely.

ifags started the OS holy wars with their "I'm better than you anytime" snottiness, and actively promoted by their departed founder.

bro, did you any ideas about Knox apps?
*
WTF are you asking the same thing over and over? And do you mean APPLICATION*S*- PLURAL or APPLICATION - singular?

You are the one who has a blog post about Knox and you are asking about Knox? I wonder if you understood the text you simply copy pasted in your blog.

Please go and take up a standard 6 Singapore syllabus English Vocab and Grammar book.

from my observations....

the lags and crashes are caused by compatibility of the old version apps with 4.3

though, play store still prompts you to update the apps. after the apps updates. it still crashes / hang. so i do agree on the factory reset suggested by other fellow pros & bros.

after the reset.do a manual download of new version of the apps that you have. rather than jus updating the app. but do take note, that some apps with temp files / saved files (like games) might be gone.
so choose the particular apps which seems to be a bit sluggish after the update, but doesnt yield important info. and do a full back up on the others.

as... i still felt that 4.3 fluidity on the GUI and other areas out performed 4.2.2
so to judge that samsung screw up 4.3 might not be the best conclusion.

android is an open source when apps and the OS itself is developed at such variety wher crashes is a norm.
so i believe if v can follow the correct steps give our phone the new updates. v would b able to minimize the problems, and maximize the potential of 4.3  nod.gif

I'd like to address the bolded statement. Open source is NOT a problem, neither are crashes desirable.

Open Source DOES NOT MEAN Free. Open Source means FREEDOM, and Free does not equal Freedom.

In fact, because Android is open source, you get Cyanogenmod and other AOSP based ROMs, where devs have the FREEDOM to change the code. That is the OS. You also need to distinguish between BETA which are known to be full of bugs for users to test and report for bug fixes so that the STABLE RELEASE is problem free. The same cycle happens with ALL software, even M$ and iOS. Therefore you cannot say open source is the cause of the crash.

If you are talking about APPS, almost all the apps are CLOSED SOURCE, but can be given to you for FREE. Even the GApps (Mail, Google+, Hangouts, Youtube) are CLOSED SOURCE.You cannot change the code. If it was developed by a 1 or 2 man dev team with poor coding skills, you will get app crashes a lot. This is where Google needs some tightening since anyone can submit apps to the Play Store.

So, do not ever equate Open Source with crashes and poor code. This is the result of brainwashing by commercial software interests. Data centers run Linux more than Windows, and the Internet boom was entirely made possible BECAUSE of Open Source.

You can have a FREE Lamborghini but you can still crash it if you are a poor driver.

Stop spreading misinformation. There is no rule that one has to do a factory reset after an os upgrade. An os upgrade is designed to allow users to continue using their phones without having to re-install everything again like after flashing. App incompatibilities can be tackled individually while a factory reset should be the last resort when you have nothing left to try.

Even M$ recommends that you perform a clean install to avoid FC/BSOD in Windows.....

And you have to consider that almost all Android *devices* (note I use the term devices) tend to have some form of lockdown, a fullwipe is a better way of ensuring FC free operation. Furthermore, 4.2.x and 4.3 do have some under the hood differences.
