in my opinion its a good way to filter the applicants especially when there's so many ppl applying...

the employers are actually looking for all rounders... even if u have the right skills but without the characteristic and softskills like critical thinking... u're still not up to their standards... u might think its crappy and unnecessary but these tests are infact specially designed for the employers to find the type of ppl they're looking for...

but try attending more of these aptitude test, u'll get a hang of it....

if u think this is unfair, what about shells first round of interview? phone interview... they called me at 9am... when i just reached my office.... blur... my fren worse... they call him at 8.30.... still haven't wake up... then he failed the 1st interview sweat.gif

but how can you blame them? there are so many ppl applying for shell, it's impossible for them to interview each and every applicants. i think they'll even have a hard time to go through all the resume. that's where the skills to write a resume comes in. you have to catch their attention the moment they look at ur resume, make it stand out of all the other applicants. Make it scream "INTERVIEW ME NOW ~ !" laugh.gif i'm still learning how to though... sad.gif

i've experienced aptitude test that tests ur characteristic and personality as well... it means that no matter how good u r, without the right attitude, u still won't get the job.

hope this helps.

@ hackwire: Calm down man. The questions aren't hard at all. Take your time to read the instructions, and you will do fine. Problems often come around when you're rushing through them, and you assume the instruction is the same for all the questions.

Relax, read carefully and then answer them. You'll do fine smile.gif

Why do u want such iq questions. hardwire dont waste ur time; hr of these companies will never give their questions out..and whoever seats for them might not even remember what it is due to nervousness. just take things easy.i always believe if its meant to be ; everything will come naturally..

Do a google search and you can find plenty of IQ tests to get your brain functioning or thinking in a way that would benefit you when you sit for the next or future aptitude/IQ tests.

i agree. it is a test of how well you understand in a short period of time. so, just relax when u're doing the aptitude test. a calm mind is needed. icon_rolleyes.gif
