technically T100 can replace a laptop device but usability wise its up to you. This is a 10" device. I personally will continue to use my desktop for non urgent productivity tasks

Guys, when you put your T100 under sleep mode, does it drain a lot of battery juice?

Cause for my case, during sleep mode. The unit seems hot and draining battery!

How does Asus implement the smart battery hibernate?

I've tried ten minutes without dock and sleep mode. Doesn't drain. I'm testing now with keyboard dock and sleep mode. See how it goes.

Unlike windows 7 where I can easily kill the apps I'm running or minimise.

Windows 8.1 seems different.

yes mine is 72% now... morning about 2 hrs usage hooked to my company wifi...
without dock??? hmmm... maybe the 500GB HDD that is the culprit???

i tried all the way cannot find that enable hibernate...

The only thing I hate about this tablet is just touch pad seems not sensitive and everytime I click either left or right button seems to shift the mouse pointer.

Secondly is the sleep mode battery drain. When I shut off the unit in dock mode from morning till now, no drain.

having used 2 'big' asus products -- TF101 (the first transformer) & Padfone2.

there will always be some issues. Asus QC can be pretty bad <-- 'moving parts', creaking sound, etc. while hardware manufacturing issues usually cannot be fixed, some just needs a firmware update

and this is where Asus shines. they really do try to take care of customers and listen to feedback. i've gone thru many firmware updates for the tf101.

so i guess just need to give Asus sometime to sort things out. it will be the same for the next version of t100. if anything, using the tf101 as example, i still think its the best android transformer -- better than the next gens that came. tf101 has got more ports, etc...

so, if you plan to wait for the 'perfect' model, good luck waiting coz the way Asus is manufacturing stuff (their QC), dun expect 'perfection' from them. are they all that bad? i dun think so...

plus, at this price... running Windows 8.1 (full fledged OS)... doubling up as tablet... and even comes with MS Office... no other brands come even close to this.

hopefully they fix the bug... from 91% when i reach office then watch movie and surfing a lil, now it is 63%...

If u install things in HDD then when u undock it the program cannot be use...
Same like if u put files in it...
But I'm not sure about memory card... I was thinking to put 32GB to install some of the programs inside...
