QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Dec 12 2013, 09:53 AM) Loaded some more heavy duty movies on last night... typical 720p but wont run from the SD Card without stuttering. I'm using a Kingston Class 4 which was working fine with my media players. Class4 is too slow. My friend also tested this before on his Note2. He didnt believe SD Card classification. In the end, his phone which was using class4 micro SD stutter every few seconds while mine equipped with Class10 play effortlessly. Both of us using Note2.Same movie works fine if copied to my onboard SSD. Same movie works fine from a USB 3.0 Portable drive. Not quite sure why. oh now, it wont play any movies from the SD Card without stuttering... even those that were working fine previously. hmmmm. Thought can have an easy way to get some movies for the kids for road trips since my car's media player died. |

For sure the HDD sucks battery life. Anyone tried opening up and change a SSD? Surely nice cause SSD now so cheap and no heat plus a bit lower on power consumption

QUOTE(hart932 @ Jan 11 2014, 12:01 AM) On my Lenovo Miix2, I can see that my battery drains fast when hooked up via usb to external hdd. Fortunately for the Miix2, the tablet can be charged & access the external hdd at the same time using usb hub. Maybe need to configure the timeout for sleep. For the case of T100, the hdd has a spinning motor that consumes lots more power than solid state drives. Its like my tablet hooked up to the ext hdd all the time when T100 is docked. Then its only normal that battery will drain much faster. Usually its more noticeable on smaller capacity battery in tablets compared to traditional laptops. The only way to reduce battery consumption & still use the keyboard is to: 1. replace hdd in keyboard with ssd 2. replace hdd in keyboard with sata sdcard adapter + sdcard (slower than ssd but more economical for bigger storage capacity per buck) Of cause there wont be any warranty left on keyboard after doing it. Initially I thought of the HDD being the cause, but did some search and found that modern HDD like Caviar Green only draw less than 1W during sleep and standby. If the HDD is idling, then power draw is much higher at 3.xW. Given how thin the dock was, more likely it houses a smaller 2.5 inch like Caviar Blue. The power draw is even lower at 0.6W when idling, and 0.2W when sleep. Shouldn't be cause of concern. Perhaps Asus need to fix the sleep with new firmware. |

QUOTE(vhs1 @ Jul 29 2015, 03:26 PM) actually how many channel max in wifi adsl router ? Usually 2.4ghz won't get more than 11 channels. Depends on your router capability, if it can support 40mhz then you have 2 channel on. Otherwise 20mhz would only mean single channel.why this T100 built with so few channel in the first place? low end device? |
