Technology improvement is always there. Buy a Note3 n it will be out of date in 6 months. Chasing newer n better specs phone will never end.
I admired you guys who are only students pursuing such a hobby. Is not cheap. I only engage in such about 3-4 years before my retirement as before that need to save money for all my children education.

Those who buy this phone should know it is bigger than normal. What is the point of talking about the size being difficult after buying it. Don't they know is 6.4 inch??!
Just show these guys don't research properly before buying it. I would say It is like crying over spoilt milk.
I am perfectly 100% happy n comfortable with the size. So zero complains from me

Can always try at shop first before buying if one is worried about pocketability. I did not bother as I can even fit a tab.7 into my side pockets. Only ipad mini I couldn't.

That is indeed very bad yellowish tone. I would say is probably a defective display.
My set very very slight yellowish tint but I noted with the firmware uogrades the yellowish tint has now gone

Nothing to brag about unless you earn your own money to buy such stuffs. Do you know what you have spend on your gadgets is several months salary of an average wage earner. Don't need to boast about such stuffs here

Right. 6k in KL is consider poor already unless he need not pay for anymore housing n car loan.
Based on what he had said so far very unlikely is only 6k.
Kids these days do not really understand how hard their parents had to work to fulfill family needs. If the parent can afford to give him pocket money n he can save so much to buy so many phones how can it be just 6k??

Couldn't wait for ijat91 confirmation and proceeded to test myself.

Just flashed mine to 510 LTE version using flashtool. Chose data to remain - it was a breeze updating it. Phone bootup successfully with zero problems n all my stuffs remain intact.

Most important is : 3G n WiFi is still working well n I have chosen as default 4G/WCDMA/GSM in network settings
Will test out LTE when I am in a LTE area next time

BTW NO fake hang issue in rebooting even with optimised backlight deselected

No need . You will lose root after upgrading. Just root it back using Vroot v1.6

I am not in KL - lah !! That is why I ask you guys to try . Is very safe. You can anytime use flashtool n flash back to non LTE 526 or 532 or even 475 or 510 if you want

NO need to root to flash rom
Just download the ftf rom file and use Flashtool to do it

If you are on Maxis postpaid and subscribed to minimum 1GB data plan, any Maxis simcard issued in th epast 1+ year can auto detect LTE. If cannot, than just have the simcard change

If you are on Celcom postpaid, you MUST change it to LTE enabled card but sadly you can only change it at Menara Celcom Jln Semarak, Bluecube Sunway, KLCC, Pavilion. This info about 2 months old. No idea by now whether Celcom has make available for more centers to have it change. I changed mine at Menara Celcom and got LTE activated within an hour. Actually it is immediate but I do not wish to line up, just fill up a form , got the card and wait for the support staff to activate it later

No risk at all. My phone has been working perfectly past 2 hours after I upgraded to the LTE rom. Everything is working very well except I cannot test its LTE functionality yet as my place doesn't have LTE. But I have chosen 4G LTE/WCDMA/GSM as default network settings and the 3G/H/H+ is working perfectly well

Infact before LTE was officially introduced in Malaysia, all the latest Maxis micro simcard issued about a year before LTE was already LTE enabled. This info was given to me by Maxis support staff

Not necessary. Example Samsung , HTC phones will definitely hard brick if you flash a LTE ROM on to a GSM phone. Was surprised this Sony XZU could be flash as possibly the LTE was just disabled only

Hert96 : can you enter the following characters into the dialler: *#*#7378423#*#* and select configuration n post your screenshot of your LTE phone.
Just curious n need to compare the bands

Of course since you are flashing a foreign country rom. But small issue as you can use flashtool to flash back original firmware.
