QUOTE(Hertz96 @ Sep 17 2013, 08:17 PM) That is SOP in manufacturing world. There will always be first, second, third, fourth source even. To drive down component price, and also to prevent single source failures. The only company to buck this trend is Apple that tends to have single source for a lot of their components. But Apple suppliers have serious contractual obligations and serious monetary penalties if they deliver faulty parts, is late, or unable to supply in sufficient quantities. |

QUOTE(xDragonZ @ Sep 18 2013, 08:07 PM) Not LTE, so sad. The 3G model was released in several selected markets only, Malaysia included. for the rest of EMEA and NA, they will only get the XZU when the LTE model is pushed out. Hence the lack of dev interest, because not many have got their device yet.anyway seems like this phone modder/phone dev not really interested. I just checked xda forum, so less activity/topics over there. |

Sony and HTC have good products let down by poor marketing, user outreach and outright horrible after sales service.
Samsung and Apple did their marketing right, and their aftersales service and warranty service is top notch. If I'm going to spend my hard earned money, all else being equal, of course I will go for good after sales service. It gives me peace of mind and extra value for my money. HTC and Sony gives me the impression that once they have my money they don't care about me anymore. |

QUOTE(Hertz96 @ Sep 19 2013, 10:20 AM) True. Blackberry also has "awesome" after sales service. By "awesome", I mean terribly lazy. My dad once had a problem with his BlackBerry Bold 9900 as the "I" button on the keypad wasn't working. He brought it to warranty claim center and told them about the problem and I guess they were too lazy to repair it, they gave a 1 on 1 brand new replacement set. When he came home and told me that he got a brand new set as replacement for one little faulty button on the keyboard, I was like, dafaq? Terribly lazy in this case is fine, as they leave a customer happy and satisfied. With our local Sony and HTC disties, they aren't lazy, they just don't seem to care. Weeks turn into months for simple repairs or replacements, countless excuses and no communication at all with the customer. Seldom return calls, if ever, and never bother to notify the customer on the status of their repairs. In the end, its Sony and HTC's fault for appointing these distributors that spoil their brand.Blackberry dropped the ball on product innovation, thats why they're where they are today. They simply dropped out of the marathon. Not because of their customer service. |

QUOTE(Hertz96 @ Sep 19 2013, 10:54 PM) If it all Nokia makes a high end powerful Android based device. I will for sure go back to the legendary Nokia. Its just a prototype. Building 10k units is actually very small quantity for a preproduction run and most likely just beta hardware. Big companies like Samsung will build probably 100k to 200k as a real trial production run to exercise their mfg lines. |
