200mm x 1.6 crop = 320mm FOV still not long enough?

how far r u sitting back? sweat.gif

of coz buying a 70-300 (480mm FOV) will get u 50% more length....

if 200 is not enough, 300 won't make much difference.

320mm vs 480mm feels like 50% more length based on numbers but in actual usage they vary very little.

tele converters don't really work well with zooms... n it especially don work (can't autofocus beyond f5.6) with slow zooms like the 18-200 n 70-300

OIC... I remember something about losing some stops once these are installed smile.gif and concerts are dimly lit in general so that really is a bummer

learnt something new, thanks smile.gif

Are you the official photographer ?
If so, you may be able to access the pit for a few songs. Once there, a 24-70 and a 70-200 combo will be good.

If you're not the official photographer... I would say just enjoy the music XD

Most concerts don't allow cameras too right? One of my friend brought DSLR to a concert and got chased out by the guards.

actually if you dont have really big budget, there are no solution than going nearer to the stage...

Canon 1100D are not good enough for concert, but if you want to use maximum potential of it, try some low light lens. 85mm 1.8 will do but u need to move closer

70-300mm is good, but I would advise you to enjoy the concert. For photos, just refer to magazines & online website usually hv a lot official concert photo taken by pro.
