QUOTE(felixmask @ Dec 12 2013, 11:52 AM) Can consider some very cash rich companies to buy their shares.....REITS are cash poor cos they pay out 95% or more , leaving 5% for operating cashflow. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Dec 12 2013, 11:55 AM |

QUOTE(felixmask @ Dec 12 2013, 12:19 PM) with my reits still bleeding..i still put my focus on reits. Well when u buy reits from your own capital, u may have more capital loss later ,Plan to accumulate each dividend receive rm4k each time. Use the dividdend to buy share other than reits. But if u buy from the profits made from investments, u lose some portion of your gains.....but not possible to lose all in reits .... All look the same, but actually not the same.....if u understand asset allocations..... This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Dec 12 2013, 12:25 PM |

QUOTE(felixmask @ Dec 12 2013, 12:52 PM) I do agree buy other type of investment, which may gain back. Well for any investments , u need to do your homeworks , a way to reduce risks.2ndly only this IGBreits giving me loss portion of 11 IPAD. Except other investment can coup 100% gain back...with rm4k, which i may consider. Currently i hv no plan to loss another rm4k(speculation/gamble stock), better i stick to average down the reits(retirement plan for yield) My feel of no comfortable of loss 11% = 11 IPAD. I cant blame 2011 bought IGBreits that i forsee MGS yield which may come up as today. Once u understand more especially of undervalued concepts, risks could be reduced...WB buys abandoned homes in US cos he does his work home . For those who do not know REITS, well they would say reits are risky after falling 27% in just 2 to 3 months. Some SREITS could fall 40% ? It could be volatile and yet not speculative .....u judge better But when u think u know reits better, a 27% fall is not risky . intending to buy more....no right or wrong anyway I talk more of the asset allocation model, which is to minimize risks cos diff asset classes tend to have certain weaknesses in certain time period........ Well if u do not understand Asset Allocation Model, then u tend to mix it with Speculations per se. There are reasons to opt for one asset class over the other at diff time period for risk minimization hence improving returns ......quite universal practice. That may tie to links to the falls in reits cos one asset class tend to compete with another....... If u are not aware of , u are speculating too......that reits performs well forever ........that is what u believe or state of denial This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Dec 12 2013, 01:42 PM |

QUOTE(yok70 @ Dec 12 2013, 01:52 PM) I remember WB's reason to heavily invested in IBM is because of the great skill of asset allocation by IBM's management. WB is a strong believer of this skill. Asset allocations are more towards asset class performances at diff time period , not on management skill .....but on how asset class behaves at certain times......If IBM pratices asset allocation is another story if Ind class does not perform well overall............ IF MAS does asset allocation does not mean is it a good buy This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Dec 12 2013, 01:59 PM |

QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Dec 12 2013, 03:43 PM) IBM give hardware to Lenovo. Lenovo bears all the hardware cost, holding, storing and developing and manufacturing. IBM is well known for Is Big Money business, they do not go for small small businesses IBM only bring your Lenovo server or laptop and go and teach client use, and charge them kao kao kao. After that, charge them more on warranty, then charge on service on call, charge on maintenance, apa pun charge. But if your hardware no issue, is putih putih bagi punya duit. |

QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Dec 12 2013, 03:58 PM) Gark-san, anoneh - some folks here have stated "REITs are for dividends. Price fall get more", nuts of steel. Sounds like an Election Campaign with no actions taken I bet they are making a killing now by totally disregarding capital loss neh Better u say how many units u bought and at what prices........ QUOTE(gark @ Dec 13 2013, 12:21 PM) Have you seen the 10Y US treasury yields? It has gone up 67%... from 1.67% to now 2.88%. Munis has also gone up significantly if not more. last night news says t b yield is at 3.90 % for 30 yrs, yet not many want to buy the new bills......http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/USGG10YR:IND Taper WILL happen and I do not think the impact will be huge as FED will taper gradually.. all the fears already priced in IMHO. |
