just thought i'd share two apps here:

Pixlr Express
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...r.express&hl=en
free. and surprisingly good. i was looking around for an apps that could do colour splash. found this. noticed it could do a lot... and uninistalled the Photo Editor apps i had downloaded earlier from Samsung apps...

Foap
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...p.android&hl=en
earn from your photos. well, u submit your photos... if it gets approved, it is put in the foap market. for each purchase, you can earn usd5.

foap for android is new. its been around for iOS for quite a while. i had installed it 1-2 days back. wanted to improve my submitted work, so went looking for some apps that could do colour splash... that's when i found the 2nd apps. smile.gif

Looks like we need to wait for another 2 month for 4.3 update on our device since samsung have only begin testing the firmware on our device. On the other hand s3 and s4 will receive it by end of october while ours are expected by end of november mad.gif  mad.gif

Rumors of Android 4.3 soon coming to the Galaxy S34, S3 and Note 2 have been circulating the internet, but now we have a bit of proof. French carrier SFR has released a roadmap table with information about their devices’ upcoming OTA updates. According to SFR, the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 should be getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean sometime in November-December, while the almighty Galaxy S4 is set to receive it in October.

Now, we are not sure how long it will take our carriers to catch up. We know how American carriers can be and don’t expect most of them to be on time, but at least we know Samsung is almost ready to get things going. The rumor confirms previous leaks about the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update release date, so it could be a precise estimate from SFR.

Odds are Nexus devices will be rocking Android 4.4. KitKat by then, but that doesn’t meanNote 2 and Galaxy S3 users shouldn’t be excited. It’s nice to see Samsung hasn’t forgotten its older-generation devices quite yet. Not to mention, it means your devices will be compatible with the Galaxy Gear!

It's only the headline that in BM...right..?
The rest of the Play Store homepage is still in English.

Sortta banner or promo for new product. Since we're staying here in M'sia..it come with BM. Even if we click and enter that booksite..it's a mix in BM and BI language
*
ya, saw that and was kinda annoyed... coz mix looks really awful. stick to one language la...

i was trying to figure out where to change the language, but no such luck. well, its actually for my wife's phone.

mine... my google account is in limbo. i get some of the US services (like books, TV, etc) but not play credits (detected as non-Play credit country)... yet some MY/ Asia functions dun work on my phone since its detected i'm not from this region. so, stuck half-half... pengsan.

Not worth it. Up to 600 or 700 max.
*
QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 24 2013, 02:24 PM)
Actually the rebate amount given is RM900. ONLY to the first 50 people mind you.

Not worth it when you take into consideration that they're selling at FULL SME RRP (2.3k?) when most shops have nowadays gone down to around 1.9k for a brand new N3.

Not that I'm sure there's even any more slots left to begin with.
*
QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Oct 24 2013, 02:33 PM)
yeah it is confirm mark up higher and then rebate after that,

so it is obvious,. while note 2 second market price RM1K ~ 1.2K,..
*
thanks...

hmmm... i was thinking maybe can try and be 'smart'... trade in very old/ AP set or something... oh well...

assuming rm900 rebate back, that would make the N3 sell at rm1.4k...

anyone in GS selling less than rm900? biggrin.gif

fairly certain quite a number of N2 users have moved on to N3.

just curious about the 2 years DROPBOX. will the 2 years get extended with the new N3 purchase? if yes, extension starts on N3 activation, or added AFTER the 2 years on N2?

i'm asking coz need to plan ahead... have to decide what to do when my 2 years DROPBOX expire. will then see if I should go for N4 or something... smile.gif

thanks...

I suspect is your cable issue.
1) Download this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment...93&d=1359319171
-If it shows 1400, should be good enough.
2) Change cable and see if it helps.
*
ya, could be the charger + cable issue. i have seen that before... and adjusting the cable actually gives me a different reading (using the apps shared by fruitie above).

in the end, settled for 3rd party charger instead -- which gives me no hissing sound and consistent current.

Actually the cheap 3rd party charger got hissing too. But still giving 1800mah. Hissing starts at 95% of battery level.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 8 2013, 05:15 PM)
Is it? I shall listen to mine when I use it next time. biggrin.gif
*
i have the same charger... intro by fruitie. actually, i have like 5 units of those -- littered all over my house/ office... lolz...

only 1 unit got that hissing sound... yes, when it reaches like close to 100%. but luckily that's the unit in office (at home, usually charge overnight and might just wake me).

anyway, for that hissing unit i have, i just unplug after that and connect to PC/ usb.

What's helium? I got titanium backup pro lanun version haha!
*
helium is similar to TiB. but no root required. however, i understand paid version will give you more backup options. well, at least that was the case a few mths back when i tried it. din pay, so i think only option was backup to PC (or was it external memory).

update 1:
helium free @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...hikdutta.backup
helium premium @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...p.license&hl=en

oh ya... helium is by ClockworkMod & used to be called another name. but changed to helium to avoid legal issues. biggrin.gif

update 2:
helium premium gives you option to backup to cloud as well, plus other goodies. plse check the links above.

anyway, i've got a question about SMS recipient limit. on my very old dumb-phone... i could basically sms unlimited number of recipients. but as phones got smarter, the limit became smaller.

on N2, i think its like 20. any idea why there's this limit? sometimes just wanna send mass greeting to friends, but this is such a pain (if text from phone).

i'm just curious as to why this is done -- i know one possibility is to prevent spam. but i'm sure spammers dun just spam from phones.

TO be honest, im not really anticipating the official 4.3 rom. I'm waiting for the custom official 4.3 rom. At least it could be stable and Less headache with all the crap samsung apps gone. tongue.gif
*
but seriously... if some of the s-pen features are gone, i'd think one is actually missing some 'useful' functions, no? it'll end up being just another smartphone but with built-in pen. no hover to preview, etc...

but ya, some stuffs, i wish we can remove. i'm using AP set. it comes with Garmin... for Afrika. But I just disable it -- at least it doesn't load but its still taking up storage... :S

Freeze them? Heck, I totally nuked most of my S-Apps, especially the ones that spawn unnecessary background processes and the ones that do things other apps simply do better (Samsung Apps... die). I do have backups though JIC,  but I haven't really had to restore anything and I'm still rock stable.

Why not freeze? Just a habit I developed during my S3 days, back when nuking a ROM to its bare bones was actually essential to keep it running well under heavy multitasking - the 1GB of RAM was a terrible bottleneck, a fully tabbed browser alone was enough to bring the S3 to it's knees if I run un-nuked. Sure freezing might also work but why waste storage on things you don't need?
*
ok, need to ask... when you 'nuke' them, i assume you remove them completely as opposed to 'freezing', which is just basically disabling.

errr... nuke via TiBU as well?

or...?

hmmm... cynogenmod installer now on Google Play. see: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...genmod.oneclick

I suggest you wean yourself off S-note even though it's useful. Use Handy Note with built in dropbox sync and device independence. It recognizes the S-Pen and has palm rejection as well.
*
which reminds me... Note3 still got SNote, right? The files from SNote on Note 2 can still be used by Note 3, correct?

i guess if YES, then as long as upgrading to next Note, should be fine.

but looking at the current situation (remours of Samsung going to push Tizen in 2014 & Android 4.3 postponed), I'm wondering how long I can 'tahan' Samsung... smile.gif

but seriously, i'm still kinda happy with present Android on my stock Note 2. used to it, happy with it. sometimes i do worry coz seen a few times where the new version changes a few things... and removes a few features/ functions in the process.

more on the reported 4.3 leaks...

QUOTE
New Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 build leaks
http://phandroid.com/2013/11/18/galaxy-note-2-update/

While much of the world is salivating over the thought of having Android 4.4 KitKat, a lot of folks would be just as happy with getting bumped up to the latest version of Jelly Bean. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one phone that is still on Android 4.1.2, though Samsung has promised that an upgrade to Android 4.3 would be along shortly.

The latest known version of the firmware upgrade has leaked for the Note 2, which could possibly be a near-final build ahead of an official rollout. We can’t say for certain this build is stable, of course, but that won’t stop some eager folks from getting their hands on it to try it out. And, for what it’s worth, SamMobile says the build is very stable after having tested it for quite a bit of time.

Instructions for downloading and installing the upgrade can be found at the tail-end of this post, though you must have an unlocked GT-N7100 model to go through with it — do not touch this with a 10-foot pole if you don’t. So what will this bring to the masses?

Samsung Galaxy Gear compatibility
Samsung KNOX security suite features
Samsung Wallet
New camera features
Improvements to multi-view
Improved user interface (most of the same UI changes found in the Galaxy S4 / Note 3)

There is sure to be more hiding under the hood, though you’ll have to go digging for all of that once you’re up and running. SamMobile says it’s possible this build will be pushed out as early as next week if testing goes OK.

Read on for the full flashing instructions, and remember that you — and you alone — are responsible for anything that happens to your device if you do something that is not OEM-approved. With that warning in mind, go ahead and have fun!

please refer to link above for flashing instructions.

it's officially here...

QUOTE
International Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 rollout begins
http://phandroid.com/2013/11/19/galaxy-note-2-android-4-3/

Yesterday, a new test build for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2′s Android 4.3 upgrade leaked, giving folks a chance to flash the goodness ahead of an official rollout. We weren’t sure if this firmware would be considered final, but Samsung decided to answer that question for us no more than a day later.

SamMobile is reporting that Android 4.3 rollouts have started for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 and GT-N7105. These are the unlocked, international models of the devices, with the latter being the version outfitted with 4G LTE radios. Samsung is likely employing a staggered rollout process, so you might not be able to pull it down right away.

To add to that, you should also note that it may take a while for the upgrade to start going out to those with carrier-branded or issued devices after the obligatory rounds of testing. This upgrade brings a ton of improvements, both in terms of key bug fixes as well as Samsung’s latest features.

Stuff like Galaxy Gear support, Samsung Knox security, photo improvements and more will all be waiting for you. The full list can be found below, but if you want to jump right into it be sure to charge your phone up and turn your WiFi radios on to check for the upgrade over-the-air.

We've been on 4.3 using custom roms for about a month now. Pretty good experience so far, and the bonus of Note 3 stuff is mostly there.
*
just curious... what kinda of note 3 stuff? you mean like that s-pen opening up the fan-like menu?

i still wish Samsung had retained some of the s-pen function found back in Note1, where one could use the pen to make gestures and do things like "BACK or even "HOME". no such function on Note 2.

plus maybe i'll bug you on the custom rom later... might be keen on it if i'm not really happy with stock 4.3...

but wanna confirm... you get most of the s-pen and samsung stuff like the calendar and email widget?

update1:
nvm... just went and checked out DN3 @ XDA
