Looks like we need to wait for another 2 month for 4.3 update on our device since samsung have only begin testing the firmware on our device. On the other hand s3 and s4 will receive it by end of october while ours are expected by end of november

Rumors of Android 4.3 soon coming to the Galaxy S34, S3 and Note 2 have been circulating the internet, but now we have a bit of proof. French carrier SFR has released a roadmap table with information about their devices’ upcoming OTA updates. According to SFR, the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 should be getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean sometime in November-December, while the almighty Galaxy S4 is set to receive it in October.

Now, we are not sure how long it will take our carriers to catch up. We know how American carriers can be and don’t expect most of them to be on time, but at least we know Samsung is almost ready to get things going. The rumor confirms previous leaks about the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update release date, so it could be a precise estimate from SFR.

Odds are Nexus devices will be rocking Android 4.4. KitKat by then, but that doesn’t meanNote 2 and Galaxy S3 users shouldn’t be excited. It’s nice to see Samsung hasn’t forgotten its older-generation devices quite yet. Not to mention, it means your devices will be compatible with the Galaxy Gear!

Not worth it when you take into consideration that they're selling at FULL SME RRP (2.3k?) when most shops have nowadays gone down to around 1.9k for a brand new N3.

Actually the cheap 3rd party charger got hissing too. But still giving 1800mah. Hissing starts at 95% of battery level.

TO be honest, im not really anticipating the official 4.3 rom. I'm waiting for the custom official 4.3 rom. At least it could be stable and Less headache with all the crap samsung apps gone.

Freeze them? Heck, I totally nuked most of my S-Apps, especially the ones that spawn unnecessary background processes and the ones that do things other apps simply do better (Samsung Apps... die). I do have backups though JIC,  but I haven't really had to restore anything and I'm still rock stable.

Why not freeze? Just a habit I developed during my S3 days, back when nuking a ROM to its bare bones was actually essential to keep it running well under heavy multitasking - the 1GB of RAM was a terrible bottleneck, a fully tabbed browser alone was enough to bring the S3 to it's knees if I run un-nuked. Sure freezing might also work but why waste storage on things you don't need?

I suggest you wean yourself off S-note even though it's useful. Use Handy Note with built in dropbox sync and device independence. It recognizes the S-Pen and has palm rejection as well.

While much of the world is salivating over the thought of having Android 4.4 KitKat, a lot of folks would be just as happy with getting bumped up to the latest version of Jelly Bean. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one phone that is still on Android 4.1.2, though Samsung has promised that an upgrade to Android 4.3 would be along shortly.

The latest known version of the firmware upgrade has leaked for the Note 2, which could possibly be a near-final build ahead of an official rollout. We can’t say for certain this build is stable, of course, but that won’t stop some eager folks from getting their hands on it to try it out. And, for what it’s worth, SamMobile says the build is very stable after having tested it for quite a bit of time.

Instructions for downloading and installing the upgrade can be found at the tail-end of this post, though you must have an unlocked GT-N7100 model to go through with it — do not touch this with a 10-foot pole if you don’t. So what will this bring to the masses?

International Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 rollout begins

Yesterday, a new test build for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2′s Android 4.3 upgrade leaked, giving folks a chance to flash the goodness ahead of an official rollout. We weren’t sure if this firmware would be considered final, but Samsung decided to answer that question for us no more than a day later.

SamMobile is reporting that Android 4.3 rollouts have started for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 and GT-N7105. These are the unlocked, international models of the devices, with the latter being the version outfitted with 4G LTE radios. Samsung is likely employing a staggered rollout process, so you might not be able to pull it down right away.

To add to that, you should also note that it may take a while for the upgrade to start going out to those with carrier-branded or issued devices after the obligatory rounds of testing. This upgrade brings a ton of improvements, both in terms of key bug fixes as well as Samsung’s latest features.

Stuff like Galaxy Gear support, Samsung Knox security, photo improvements and more will all be waiting for you. The full list can be found below, but if you want to jump right into it be sure to charge your phone up and turn your WiFi radios on to check for the upgrade over-the-air.

We've been on 4.3 using custom roms for about a month now. Pretty good experience so far, and the bonus of Note 3 stuff is mostly there.
