I flash the LTE rom on my non LTE XZU this morning. The phone settings n network shows is LTE model. Everything is working perfectly well but since my place no LTE I am unable to test yet the LTE functionality. Even if LTE can work, there will still be buyers for the LTE specific model. The masses know nuts about rom flashing

Well if one wants to do it prepare for warranty be void.
This is one point I always emphasize to users wishing to root. Even with flash counter removed n rom shown as official if the tech wants to dig into the hidden files he will still know you have rooted before.
If one is not prepared for such DON'T bother to root. The moment i root any of my phone i am prepare for warranty to be void.

Had been reading about you not having a laptop several months already ! Windows laptop plenty of choices these days n I am sure you can find one to meet your budget. I am a MAC user but uses a Asus netbook eeePC win 7 to flash all my phones n tablets. It is cheap about rm800+ bought new n serves me well though it's performance is merely satisfactory.
This netbook now collecting dust after I bought a higher specs Win 8 ultra book Vaio Pro 11.

Rooting is a very safe process. The chance of hard bricking is one in several trillion times. Only a dumb user will brick phone while rooting it.
Just make sure your phone is well charged at least 50%, download correct root file n follow the instructions closely
Rooting will not delete any data from phone too
Flashing firmware could possibly softbricked or even hard brick . But than only a careless user will ever hit such a problem

I don't see the Msian authorized distributor sticker Vector or MCM? You will have problem claiming warranty for a new set without it

SanDisk is lifetime warranty from its authorized distributors. And there is no limit on how many times you can change the card according to the VD staff who served me last time.

Not yet now but soon will be as promised by Samsung

Probably yours is one of the 3000 sets stolen from airport n they do not wish it's imei being flagged out. This is most ridiculous story from seller

Based on last report less than 100 sets were recovered by police. Rest I believe now scattered all over market. It was even reported 3 lowyat shops were questioned over this !!
