My mistakes, now have to live with it. I've checked inside /data/media/ and the folders are all empty. thank god i did backup my files early last month before i tried some custom rom. Only a few of the newer files are missing. Lessons learnt.

Hi all!

Need some help from you guys. Lately for the past 2 months or so, my phone keep on saying external memory card error and then the notification will be gone after say 10-15 minutes and I can access my microsd card files like normal through gallery and music player where I store my pics and songs. This goes on randomly throughout the day.

At first I thought it was the microsd card failing (sandisk 32gb) so I backed up my files right away. But it has been going on and off for the past 2 months which also results in a faster battery drain. I have removed it almost a week ago and yesterday I tried it again and the same symptoms persisted.

Question is, is it the memory card itself that is failing, or the phone external memory card reader? Any way to diagnose whether its the phone's problem or the card problem?
When the notification does pop up saying my card has an error, I can still browse through my files using the My Files app and open up any songs/pics/pdfs etc.

Extremely likely the card is failing. Have you run any scans using Windows on the card?

So far every single time I connect it to my mac through Airdroid or usb, its been able to read my files on the external card just fine. Its just that the phone seems to have difficulties reading the card at random times. I initially thought it was the card failing. But now Im considering the reader in the phone itself is faulty. I cant verify it further since I dont have a usb card reader for my laptop and I have no access to a sd card adapter.

Sometimes the phone would say that the card is ejected, and after a few minutes its back to normal again. Sometimes it says no memory card inserted. And sometimes it says memory card error and that it needs to be formatted.

flashed 4.3 on mine..everything seems to be working fine..except for s note..any of u guys have any idea how to deal with this? thanks

Wipe snote data. I think this will wipe all your notes as well. I had always had these issues with snote when changing rom and in the end i do not use it anymore. Now I use alternative app like papyrus

check today on the info, it is based on 4.1.1 - perseus kernel
any 4.1.2 custom rom recommended which is stable? aiming wanam lite and cyanogenmod.

n i cant dl Apps from GP via data. always tell me require wifi for app > 1.5mb i think (waiting for wifi)

Just use wanam but not the latest 4.3. But the MIUI 4.1.1 rom if you use with perseus kernel should be safe. Also update your recovery.

I see that you are using stock kernel. Is there any problem with using custom kernel?

No custom kernel for leak 4.3 yet.

wta regarding bout miui v5 rom. there's a dl file size limit but then i saw ppl post they can chg it to 20mb or so.

nvm, found what they mean. its the freaking download apps >.<.....
i still experience random restart twice < 24 hrs after flash to this rom. (done by using full wipe)

wta on Omega Rom. i notice a big warning on Modem related matters.

so i shouldn't install this kernel but can flash the rom only?

Yes you can try not to install the kernel and just stick to your current perseus. There should be option in aroma for you to choose.

Bro,do you mind to upload wanam's 4.3 ROM if you have time to a website where I can get a stable download?I have been trying to download from the romcook website and the XDA file server site but I keep on getting cut off and the download is unfinished...Thanks in advance. =)

Sorry i have limited bandwidth. Use IDM to download can resume if faces any issues.
