Flash DN3 4.3. quite good.  smile.gif

Yeah man, DN3 is damned good......I am wondering if the brightness setting has been adjusted as well, since I notice the screen to be overall brighter.

Maybe placebo effect ka?

if anyone complete the battery cycle, please share your battery SOT on DN3 ROM please,.. notworthy.gif

I've been using it as a mobile hotspot, with some calls, so SOT is very low but lasts an entire work day for tethering use. It's the same as when I was on DMF2 stock.

Anyway, it was shared earlier to me by Superman7:

Google Taking Aim at Device Modders in Android 4.4 KitKat
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/goog...oid-4-4-kitkat/

Modding of devices will get increasingly difficult. Note 2 is probably the last great modding beast (except maybe for Nexus).

About 120 ROMs for Note 2 at last count from the XDA index thread, inclusive of inactive ROMs, which in and of themselves are still usable.

Flashed to DN3 finally, everything works well except for handwriting recognition. No FC or whatsoever but whatever I wrote is not recognized. Nothing is shown though the writing pad has my writing which wasn't auto delete whenever I finished with a word. Anybody else has this issue?
*
QUOTE(sacremento @ Nov 3 2013, 03:01 AM)
Im not using note 3 keyboard. Read about some issues users facing. I think there are some users in xda facing the same problem as you. You might have to do some cache clearing.
*
I have a different "problem". Everything works even after I've added Chinese and Vietnamese tongue.gif However the pen stroke is VERY THICK......can't find a way to make the stroke thinner. I recall in 4.1.2 ROMs there's a setting for pen stroke thickness under S-Pen....is your pen stroke thick?

This stroke thickness happens in the handwriting keyboard, direct input and when I invoke Scrapbook.

UPDATE: To clarify, actually this is not the S-note inking thickness, but the default blue stroke for handwriting recognition. Really can't find any option to adjust this.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 3 2013, 12:34 PM)
Yes, hope it helps others. smile.gif
True. Wanam Xposed and Note 2 Hidden Settings are not working for sub symbols.
By the way, Pen Window Manager is not working? I can't add more than the pre default apps? Joeldroid can.
*
Note 2 Hidden Settings works on mine.

It's actually stable. Came from pure stock DMF2 unrooted with fullwipe. I use it for my company line. There's always SMS and Call Log backup readily available, and Xposed call recording if you want that sort of stuff.

I believe sooner or later...we will need to use the new bootloader which will restrict most flashing. And if we still using old bootloader..the phone most likely gonna goes haywire. hmm.gif

Well..nothing good last forever..just enjoy what we have and can right now. No point of thinking so far ahead of time..lolz biggrin.gif
*
The thing with software is that it never "degrades" unless all along the communication chain it gets rejected. I don't see why we can't remain at the current unlocked bootloader until even the telcos reject our radio signal from a non-upgraded phone.

Follow up with my sister's case this morning. Something really strange happened. Please help me to evaluate. hmm.gif

1) My sister is using U Mobile. Home button no response and no network.
2) She put her SIM card into my Note II, everything works like normal. Network also fine.
3) I put my Celcom SIM card into her Note II, everything works fine. Home button is fine and network ok.
4) Switched back her SIM card into her phone, situation no. 1 appears again.
5) We repeated step 2 and 3, no issue.

rclxub.gif Not sure if it's hardware or software problem now.

Yeah probably try another U mobile SIM. I had a case whereby I needed to change a SIM otherwise invoking GPS would cause a reboot. Went to Maxis, changed the SIM, everything's fine. It wasn't a cut SIM either.

They probably don't work very well or don't work, can't remember. I turned it off. It's supposed to drain battery anyway.

You could read the DN3 thread....

Back to Perseus Kernel + Wanamlite ROM combination

• Greenified every single wakelock app possible, avoided the use of Google Chrome (massive battery eater)
• Undervolted until borderline stability
• 600MHz CPU cap, 1 core lock
• Used reduced luminance register hook + master sequence
• No haptic feedback
• Muted speaker
• 99% H+/4G usage
• Maintained battery temperature <32'c

A camera comparison between Note 3 and Note 2

http://www.androidheadlines.com/2013/11/sa...a-shootout.html

Nice read, but I didn't know the sensor size was soooooo smalllll..... 1/3.06". The Nokia N8 was wayyy bigger at 1/1.83 (IIRC).
