After 9 month on stock rom finally decided to flash custom rom. Flashed devil dual boot kernel and recovery. Now my note 2 can dual boot to android revolution hd for primary boot and miui v5 for secondary rclxms.gif
spend 5 hours to do this with trials and errors, most errors are due to impatient and misread the step. Its amazing with what we can do with this device thumbup.gif I'm happy that i bought this phone.
Now need to sleep, tomorow will monitor ofr stability and any problems

Good for you. See, the most important thing about rooting is to read and understand clearly what happens. The action is just 5 minutes.

No such thing as best rom . Every user got their own preferences . Try out what u like best and since u wanna try ROM , change a ROM every 2-3 days till u find what u like

How long does it usually take to load a new rom into the system? Decided to try the new Alliance ROM, after flashing, the Samsung logo spins around for a couple of minutes and still nothing.

Tried reflashing, battery pull etc still does load. Never occurred to be before (after flashing so many roms). I suspect the rom is :/

Its a zip file, I assume it's .tar thou. But oddly, tried flashing one of my older roms, still the same issue. Installing from my sd card. Either that or I've completely forgotten how to flash a rom doh.gif

What custom recovery you are using? TWRP? custom CWM?
Make sure you got the correct rom for n7100.

Yeap, reading and understanding the step is very important though by doing the mistake i actually did learn more. lol
Dual boot is amazing. I can enjoy 2 type of rom on 1 phone at the same time. Since I can't live with most of the Touchwiz app and spen feature that came with the phone for work related stuff I can have that as primary rom and still able to try out other rom rclxm9.gif
For now miui is a bit wierd for me since it looks like and iphone interface.lol. when bored will try cm 10.2

Sentinel ROM and CM10.1 laugh.gif CM10.1 drained the most overnight for me. Already disabled some apps on Autorun Manager but it still appears under *Deleted wakelocks* in BBS shakehead.gif This is based on my experience lah, might be different from yours

I thought now Note II SME is 1499? Or could be lower by now.

I didnt know price is dropped to 1499. I think upon note 3 availability of stock , price might go down again. 1299 might be ;-) juz guessing only.

I doubt so unless it's a few months later after launching of Note 3 . RRP for Note2 is 1799 if i remember correctly while traders r selling it for as low as 1499 . 500 different between 2 different generation is normal . After all , we r buying an android phone , not an iphone where the rrp is fixed for another year till the next release . Android phones drop price over the 1 year period .
