Since I'm not that sure here is what I've seen"

I bought a digicam, then I started a thread for the digicam, since I have seen other digicam with specific threads, and I know there are quite a number of people with it, then a mod closes/merges it saying there are too much threads.

Then I read the review on LYN frontpage on the LG chocalate hp thing, and I click the forum link which directly goes to a whole new room devoted for the phone, even though there are no post in it whatsoever.

If a room would be dedicated to a hp, then isn't the K750i is way better then the LG? In terms of discussion, price, pro cons, I just have this feeling. And the K750i only has a thread, while the LG has a whole room. whistling.gif

Is it double standard, or is it a sponsored thing which benefits the site? If its a sponsored room, then how about placing an add directly at the entrance, something like Autoworld forums where some of the rooms are sponsored.

I am not being critical, just that I find it slightly odd and ethically incorrect.

se7en was given a review unit by LG.
And about a whole sub-forum dedicated well, I do not know for sure if LG is sponsoring LYN. This prolly would need the admins or se7en himself to clear up (as they are the only ones with access to Admin CP needed to create a new sub-forum).

We were loaned a review unit by LG for the review. The other advertisments are paid for.

LG requested a subforum for the phone, they agreed to address issues, discussions and such in relation to the phone in the subforum. We applied the same terms we had in the Price and Dealers guide here. They (LG in this case) are willing to come in and support the end users on a direct basis, which we believe is beneficial, and we're merely providing them with the platform.

I see, then its ok then. Maybe an ad saying "powered by LG" or "sponsored by LG" would be good indicator on the forum topics.
1. to get more income by LG actually paying a space for ads
2. To let uesrs know that the the hardware is sponsored by LG.
Or it would make the website messy?

we do not want to set a trend by allowing ad space to invade the forum topics. It would then set a precedent, and we will have to agree to advertisments on forum topics etc - something that would generate more money for us, but at the expense of making the site look like some pasar malam. Believe me, we've had lots of requests for such ads that we've turned down.

The LG forum was created for the sole purpose of allowing a direct interaction between our forumers and the support staff at LG. It would have been the same for any other phone, if requested by their respective companies.

I will however take your suggestion on editing the description of the forum to avoid confusion.
