Hi guys, I'm new here. Have always used Android so it's time for a change smile.gif

Anyways, what is the meaning of a sim free set?
According to the seller, when Apple Malaysia launches the 5C officially here, I can send it to Apple Malaysia for warranty.
Is that true? icon_question.gif

I am not buying from Apple Malaysia but from a seller on LYN and it's a sim free set.
Obviously it can't be an Apple Malaysia set because it has not even launched officially in Malaysia.
So my sim free set has to be an overseas set but seller claims it can be sent to Apple Malaysia for warranty when it launches officially.
Is that true?

Oops. My bad. Did not read your question properly.
Anyway the answer is no.

So that means the seller is lying?
He's supposedly quite a reputable seller yawn.gif

Easy. If he claims it's possible, ask him to do it for you.
Or if he says that's your job, ask him what happens if Apple Malaysia rejects your warranty claim. Will he be liable/not?
Plus make sure he doesn't run away for the next 12 months following your purchase of an iDevice from him (this part would be a challenge)  brows.gif

Just wondering, when the phone officially launches, will the RSP be more expensive than the sim free sets you can get on LYN currently for 1899.

I reckon the highest it'll go will be 1999. Anything more than that and people would rather go for the 5S which I reckon will be between 2199 and 2299.
Regardless of the price, Malaysian prices are still amongst the cheapest in the entire world.
I frickin got my 5C in China for 2399  doh.gif

LOL. Alright thanks dude! Planning to get mine next week rclxms.gif
Enough of Android drool.gif

But I noticed this thread is quite dead compared to the 5S.
Do you think the 5C would be like other Androids in terms of second hand pricing?
Apple products are known to hold their value quite well.

Yeah, it is pretty quiet because there are so few users (I think still less than 5).
In a way I find it great that there are lesser users as it doesn't make the 5C so mainstream.
Besides, if there are any questions you have regarding iOS you can ask me. I know my way around iOS quite well smile.gif

Regarding the 2nd hand market, I believe pricing for used 5Cs will probably be alike the current iPhone 5.
That is around RM1550-1650. We'll have to wait and see.

PS, welcome to the iOS boat laugh.gif

Alright, thanks! rclxms.gif
If the 5C is less mainstream, won't it be hard to find covers and accessories?
I used to own a Nexus and the choices for covers and accessories were very very limited because not many used the Nexus (I9250).

Last question, would it be better to wait for it to officially launch and pay more but be assured of the warranty or get it now at a cheaper price? yawn.gif
Selller said if Apple Malaysia doesn't accept my phone for warranty, I can send it back to the seller.

What kind of data that you want to back up?

For contacts, notes and calendar, u can always sync with the Google account, as you can retrieve back at your new iPhone using the same account.

For photos, u can always transfer to your desktop or notebook as a back up, as you can transfer it back to your iCloud for photo sync.

Trust me, I'm currently using both the iPhone and Android phones with all the data are syncs in line.

Alright thanks!
I'll be getting a sim free set, so will I be able to enjoy LTE ?
Currently using maxis and 1GB data plan.

Off course that you will get the lte connection especially if you are using Maxis, but please ensure that your sim card is less than two years old, especially if you did cut it to nano sim size, and to be sure about it, find out from the Maxis customer svc

Oh I am using SGS3 that means its still a micro sim. So it's best to ask Maxis whether I need to change?

It does bro. I got mine from Hong Kong for HKD228.
The iPhone fits perfectly snug into the case. Quality is top notch as well.

Alright, will be looking forward to it wink.gif
What color is your iPhone 5C and what color cover did you get? yawn.gif
