 [WTAsk]Setting Up Video Server, HowTo?

Let say the situation is that i want to let my friend on LAN to stream video from my computer. How can I do that?
What software should I use?
Sorry if this topic not appropriate. Appreciate any help smile.gif

there is two types of streaming technology that i know..
1. streaming using streaming server which is costly. No files will dload to ur computer.

2.streaming by dload to ur computer.

for me,better to choose option 2,because it's easy to setup and cheap.

correct me i'm wrong. happy.gif

u can use flash(flv like youtube using).. laugh.gif

what do you mean by streaming download to own computer? is it similar to me sharing the file on lan then my friend copy the file? Is it possible to setup so that my friend can stream direct using media player by entering only my url?

If your friend's video files are all on one folder, just drag the folder into your Windows Media Player (or any alternative) in your playlist. The video will then be streamed.

this thing I already know. tq. Hurm..so it is not possible to broadcast video..like shoutcast for audio ehh?what i want to do is actually like shoutcast is like radio station.. i want to do like tv station..impossible ehh?

laugh.gif i accidentally found the answer..can use VLC player to act as a server for video streaming sweat.gif thanx all. someone told me the answer just now
