i can foresee it will be the smart device we all have on our wrist 10 years down the road. But whether it will replace the phone or not depends very much on the advance in technology. Who predicted 10 years ago that we can surf net and check email on our phones with just a few touches.

haha... i do not have high expectation - as long as it is as good as the Note II video and photo capability, I am satisfied.

I think you are correct BUT it depends on whether they will ask you to pay back the free Gear or not. Better clarify with DiGi before you sign your name on the form.

My perspective for DiGi package:
1. Note 3 = RM1,319
2. 2 years subscription = RM148x24=3,552
Total: RM4,871
3. Less: RRP of Note 3=RM2,399
4. Less: Resale the Gear for say RM800
Nett=RM1,672=RM69.67/month for 6GB data+600mins talktime+600sms

This is maximum saving scenario.

Worth? Not for me, I will just buy the phone at RM2,399 and get the Maxis surfmore75 5GB data anyday, assuming Maxis will not have any Note 3 promotion which is unlikely.

Btw, anyone compared Maxis Note II bundle with Note 10.1 bundle? Thinking of getting either one of them with contract and another one just device alone.

haha..... it's relevant to us coz we need to know how to get the Note 3 at the most value for money way. According to Note I & Note II tradition, the official thread will discuss mostly on celcos plan and availability 1-2 weeks until it was launched. Then the second phase will be initial issues and casing. Then come with rooting, flashing, etc.

wow... Celcom's First Data mPro Plus RM88 is very tempting IF you need an additional line.

Less: Note 3 RRP RM2,299
Less: Sales of the free Gear = RM600
Net=RM801= RM33.38 for monthly 5GB data+60mins call+60 sms.
(This is minimum saving scenario)

Looks like a great bargain to me.

EDIT: Damn.... Celcom free Gear seems not guaranteed.

you are estimate base on max saving scenario. Like i say, provided they dun ask you to pay back the RM999 RRP for the Gear.

The DiGi web site does mention: FREE Samsung GALAXY Gear when your purchase this device with DG SmartPlan™ 148! T&Cs apply.

Dun know what is the T&C.

From my past experience with DiGi, the actual scenario most likely will be as follows:
1. Device=RM1,319
2. 1 month advance payment for plan=RM148
3. RM800/RM148=5.4 month (sure round up to 6 months coz you can't terminate half way in the middle of month)
so RM148 x 6 = RM888
4. Penalty = (RM2,399-RM1,319)/24 x (24 - 7 months of usage) = RM765
5. Admin fee=RM100
Total=RM3,220 (you save RM178+7 months DiGi usage compared to RM2,399+RM999) provided they dun impose any penalty to recover the cost of the Gear.

As usual, Maxis is always the last celco to reveal their plans. Maybe they wait for their competitors to show hand first. For Note II, iirc, we only knew the plan just 1 or 2 days before the launch and it is not attractive at all.

haha.. i am pissed coz i cancel the contract with DiGi and pay the penalty and admin fee for nothing. Moreover, bought the Note II without contract at RRP.

Annoyed, so i signed up another note2 under the surfmore75 plan. Pass the note 2 to my wife and sold her S3. I use the plan, she uses the phone.

yes, normally they will have roadshow but normally just a cheapo free case for Note-series, dun expect too much. Sometime the roadshow is held by telcos instead.

although i am also doubtful that DiGi will just give away the Gear just like that if one cancel the plan but it is not impossible if they secure a good bundled deal from Samsung. Yes, to us it costs RM999 but to Samsung, maybe it just cost RM200. In view of Samsung trying to push this new category of smart-wear, they may just sell the Gear to telcos at deep discount. Win-win-win situation for Samsung-telco-users.
