Have been looking for a game like this for a long time now, Civ 5 is nice but like most game I dislike the war aspect of it, I prefer a game where I build for the survival of the community through resource management.

Currently, it is a 1 man show for this game, so will keep an eye on this to determine whether it is good enough to warrant a purchase.

Zombies so mainstream, I want man eating sheeps and fire breathing ponies.

Overated
game looks great, but for the price (US19.99), better get civ4 or anno 1701 or settlers 7 or Europa Universalis 3, all are cheaper/same price with much much much more content

I'll wait for sales/bundles

this game is addictive but after a while you lose track and get bored
trader came to dock only once per year in late summer and price for livestock is expensive
and they only want to be paid with high quality items.

at one time my whole town only has elderly and 2 girls with no one to reproduce
failed town

I bought the game last weekend. Villagers had succumbed to famine or frozen to death. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it. Managed to stock pile so much food that i need another 2 more barns to stock pile them. My town is slowly growing, manage to build a town hall so i can get nomads in.

Questions though...how do you get cows so you can put them into the pasture for the herdsmen to take care of? There's eggs to buy from the merchants...so where do you get the chickens? Or sheeps to make wool?

I haven't even seen barley seeds being sold, so i can't plant barley seeds to make ale yet.

There will be a merchant that only sells livestock
Either buy from them when they're in stock or place an order which will raise the price as well

Getting Nomad is prettu usefull when u rlly need laborers, but it can kill too. Food, cloth, tools, houses...got to make sure we got plenty of extra of these before allowed Nomad to come in.

On your question bout cows. Purchase them via AI traders, build a pasture, select cattle and put two herdsman on it. U will see those cow automatically march from the trading post to the pasture. By having cattle, u will from time to time produce leather (for tailoring) and meat (food) thumbup.gif

Egg question, buy chicken from AI traders and build pasture for them. Put herdsmen and the chicken will automatically run to the pasture. Chicken will automatically produce eggs from time to time.

Sheep for wool, yes. Same with above, buy from AI traders, build pasture and hire herdsmen. Sheep will give u wool (tailoring) and meat (food).

For ale, I haven't tried yet. But Im thinking to make a very big big orchard and plant pears and apple. These fruit can be process to be ale. Berries from gatherer also can be process to be an ale nod.gif

Hmmm, just a few tips that I just learnt, quickly build school if u can afford! they will DRAMATICALLY increase cloth and tools production! notworthy.gif (but make sure to have extra food, as student wont work untill they graduate, and that means they will suck up your food stock but not doing any job)

pls, do share some tips if u guys got one icon_rolleyes.gif

only made 1 trade post since they uses a lot of resource.
i didn't sell firewood since they were always out of stock the villagers hoard them like crazy it was never enough
i focus on making houses since they wont reproduce unless i build new house
does hiring a physician makes them reproduce more? lol?

Game is very good. Addictive a bit and a wrong move might be costly to your village.
Micromanagement game at its best.

Got mine for free some more as a gift biggrin.gif

bought this game during Steam Summer Sales. actually I've been longing to buy this game after I got screwed up by EA for their Simcity (2 days of watching the Simcity stream made up my mind to buy their buggy game).

at most I could get is about 200 people over the course of 10 year plus, then I made a mistake of putting my Market too far from my main camp, and suddenly all my products got moved to Market instead of Storage Barn, and people start dying without food hahaha.

Anyone up for a match? True, there's no multiplayer but since the preset is kinda user-defined, we could probably set a game with same difficulty, terrain, weather, and most importantly : the RNG-ed SEED NUMBER!
