2.67 not available yet for me either..

Is it the right time for me to root now or should I just root without bothering about the new update?

I'm still hesitating which Honami ROM to take, omg.. eXistenZ or KA02 Xperia Z Radioactive.. Just to confirm, both are usable for locked bootloaders right?

mine AP set...about RM900  cry.gif
but then if ori, they said it will cost RM800

OMG, so little for original!?

If that's the case, who would want to trade in the phone?

I bought my Z at 2199, imagine how much I lost trading in like that.. And I thought there was some hope that I could get the Z1.. cry.gif

Why you all wanted to sell to people?

The Xperia Xchange is doesn't give good trade in value?

The Z1 should be out by now right?

U updated via PCC, were there any data lost? Especially games..

I played my Real Racing 3 until very far, not willing to lose the save data Y_Y

looks like this thread will die soon.
almost everyone jumping ship to XZ1 is it?
*
I hope not, XZ is still a great phone, there won't be a XZ1 without XZ..

I believe there will still be active XZ users here wink.gif

I just realised XZ has better front camera than the XZ1 shocking.gif

Did anyone go for the Xchange program to trade in their XZ yet? What is the value of the trade in? I'm curious =)

I just bought my XZ last week and u know the exchange program offer me RM 900 only i was like !@#$%^&*()_+~  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

Like that i rather sell at LYN then only buy new phone still no need to cover so much.
*
Omg, freaking RM900 for a 1 week phone? The staff really doesn't know how to evaluate or Sony is really taking advantage of us, this is so unfair!

I guess it's better that I root this phone and use the Honami ROM instead, the Z1 doesn't actually have so many improvements that makes it worth changing cool2.gif

I got a silly question regarding installation of custom ROMs.

I want to know what is the purpose of flashing kernel only firmware.

There is a last step in installing custom ROM where I should flash to a kernel only ROM, what does it actually do?

Kindly enlighten me, thank you!

BTW, eXistenZ v3 ROM is awesome, loving it a lot!! rclxm9.gif

What do u mean kernel oni rom???
*
Sorry, I meant firmware, not ROM.

Have a look at this thread.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349656

Read this step :

Flash 10.3.1.A.0.244 kernel only with flashtool

Why do we need to flash back to a kernel only firmware?

To be updated?

Because u flash the 423 kernel at the first step for root maa , then u must flash back to 244 kernel, coz this Rom is 244 based.
*
What if I did not flash to the 244 kernel, I flash to the latest .67 kernel instead?

Would there be problems?

That Rom is 244 based la, if u flash 67 kernel, it may brick your phone.
*

don't play with kernels if you don't know the proper way.
one mistake and you might be lucky that it soft brick.
if it hard bricked, than it is GG d.
*
Well, I only followed steps and instructions, I never knew the consequences are that severe.

I feel fortunate that I never came into any troubles so far sweat.gif

So, the proper way to do it is

1. Wipe cache & dalvik cache

2. Flash firmware kernel

Am I right?

Would I lose anything when I wipe my cache & dalvik cache?

i use skpe, gtalk, wechat, whatapp, fb message, sms ....

any solution thanks ?
me still new, not using the phone yet, until fully configure ...

You may wipe cache & dalvik cache via CWM or TWRP wink.gif

Btw, did any of you guys try connecting a USB 3.0 thumbdrive to the XZ? Would it work?

I'm considering a thumbdrive specially for the XZ itself but I need to ensure whether the XZ is able to power and support a USB 3.0 thumbdrive. Lest, I would go for a USB 2.0 thumbdrive.
