Anybody's ZL power button looks... rusted? Is this normal? BTW, which case looks good and protects on ZL? Anything like Spigen Neo Hybrid?

Have both Z and ZL on hand now... after some comparison, realized that at the same 50% brightness level, the Z screen is darker and nicer. The ZL screen is brighter, but less saturated, and black appears more grayish. Also, the power buttons are different. More rounded and smooth on the Z, and flat, rough, prone to discolouration on the ZL.

QUOTE(Lucidus @ Sep 29 2013, 01:33 PM)
Got my XPZ back after 4 working days.

Camera replacement due to black dot (under warranty).

They only replace the camera module, no 1:1 new phone exchange. biggrin.gif

They updated to latest firmware too.
*
Did they give any reason on not providing 1:1? Some members here got 1:1 for Z since the waterproofing will be compromised if they open up the chassis.

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Sep 29 2013, 04:02 PM)
Free replacement?

I also want to claim my ZL
*
Black dots at camera is covered by warranty. For ZL, they just change the camera module.

What's the remote control app which came with ZL called? Uninstalled all my preinstalled apps, couldn't find it back.
Is it in Play Store?

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Sep 29 2013, 06:07 PM)
Normally wait how long?

I think it's 4 or 5 working days.

- Doubtful waterproofing with some units.
- Back glass easy to crack and expensive to repair (RM9xx).

Anybody took off the front shatter proof sheet? What's the noticeable difference, and does it void the warranty?

Long press to remove, or swipe to the left and press "+" to add widget. smile.gif

Thanks. Managed remove the clock, but got a "+" there. Any way to make the lockscreen as empty as possible?

The question:

QUOTE
Dear Sony,

I would like to ask regarding the Xperia Z smartphone. If I were to take out the shatter-proof sheet on the front (and the Sony logo will come off with it), will it void my warranty? Thanks.

Regards,
(me)

The answer:

QUOTE
Dear Mr (me),

Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.

We would not recommend you to remove the anti shatter firm (ASF) as the purpose is the hold the glass within if the screen crack. We wish to inform you this will not void the warranty and please take note that there is no replacement for the ASF.

Need advise on Z camera mode. What's the default you guys use? Is superior auto useful? With my S3, Normal, HDR, Low Light can cover almost all situations. With Z, results can be unpredictable, even with same mode, same timing, same scene. I read someone post that Food for macro, Night Potrait for low light, and... forgot what mode for normal. Any advise?

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Nov 15 2013, 11:20 AM)
superior auto mode a little tricky here.. better fix in 1 scene mode if u know which scene.. if scene mode cant serve u well then go for normal and adjust ur settings..

How about pool pictures? Fast moving subjects swimming and splashing water around. Any recommended scene?

I noticed Z can take nice pics if there is time to prepare the shot. For spontaneous shots, it's quite unpredictable.
