hi guys, I am new here, I want to ask about XZ battery life, how was it?
*
Bro just bought it new or trade with old phone? Anyway i heard that the battery life is average only, full charge could last you 1 whole day with moderate usage.

Thinking to get 1 too.

Got my ZL few hours ago. Black colour(at first aiming for red). I just fall in love with it. It's so sexy, the size is just nice and I feel like I used it for a long time. It blends with me well. The battery kinda make me worry though, maybe let it have more charge cycle to judge it.

My only problem is I can't find a good back case for it, i prefer silicone or rubber case that cover all back area instead of hard cases. Hope you guys can recommend me some.

Where do u find red zl??
*
I search red ZL at most of the shop around Klang Valley and most of them said "waa that one like finding Dinosaur you know". But, SonyCentreJB got the stock. They do postage or you can buy it from their shop.

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Oct 14 2013, 02:35 AM)
hmm rock sand back case.. lowyat can easily search cherry case or nilkin case only.. for more case type, u may refer to taobao.

im using hardback case, IMAK transparent case, Nilkin flip case..
*
I got free Chery silicone case when i bought the phone, but the quality is a let down for me. Using UAG, CASEMATE, Spigen SGP before for my Note 2 & S4 make me feel the need of high quality casing. But sadly they are not available for ZL.

One more thing, I got the phone last night, so play with the setup, syncing and downloading apps. This morning only able to make a call and i found out the sound i quite soft even at max volume. Compared to my previous phone. Do you have this problme bro?

QUOTE(Nephrite @ Oct 14 2013, 10:28 AM)
Go Times Square buy from the IT Center there from those bangla. Previously when i go get the transparent case for my XZ i saw they sell those case cheap from RM 7 to RM 25 all quite nice for sony. Silicone, Hard case, everything there got. Colour and design also variant and you can choose until you scare.

I buy the transparent case hard the guy offer me RM 25 i kasi hantam hantam the price at last deal at RM 12 hehe.
*
I got one Chery silicone case but I think for such a beauty phone, it would be great to use a proper case such as casemate or incipio. But then they are not available here. So sad.

Owned a XZL here...wonder what's the difference for diamond SP and Clear SP when XZL only apply on the front only... it'll have some shining diamond on the screen? isn't that odd? No offence..just curious.
*
Yes, diamond SP is the clear version of screen protector plus the bling2 and shining thing. Some people said it make the screen look gorgeous when it is off. For me it ruins everything. The best screen protector is Ultra Crystal(clear) or no screen protector. Matte or diamond just ruins the beauty of the screen.

QUOTE(lchee @ Oct 14 2013, 11:15 AM)
Hi owners of xperia ZR. I am considering getting this phone.  My point of consideration is mainly on the water proof feature. How good is this phone being waterproof?  Any testament from actual owners?  Previously i was using iphone with lifeproof case.  Liked it very much, i threw the phone purposely at my condo swimming pool and it sat there for 5 minutes at depth of 1.7metres, took it out no problem.  The only nag is to charge the phone i need to open the flap everytime, over a period of close to a year the flab became quite loose.  I understand xperia ZR has this issue as well, as need to open the flab to charge the phone which may degrade the seal capability due to constant wear of that charging port seal.  But i heard ZR has add on which can make the phone  being able to charge without cable.  Will that totally make the phone still be water proof with that add on?
*
Actually there is 1 dedicated thread for ZR but I think that thread also is inactive. You might get better opinions there. This is the link for the thread. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...98&hl=xperia+zr

Okay, I don't own ZR but I had play with my firend ZR many times before. It is a good phone for those who need smaller screen factor as you know most of flagship Android device now comes with 5' inch screen minimum. Coming from an iPhone, you wouldn't feel much different in size. About the waterproof things, my friend never test. I can't guarantee this as personal experience but there are some reviews in youtube that you can refer to. Link below.

As for the charging part, i believe you are asking about charging dock. YES you dont have to open the usb port if you use this charging dock. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/produc...ging-dock-dk28/

Hi guys, wanna get some opinion from you guys, should I get a XZL or XZR? My usage would be for social, sometime take photo and listen songs/radio. Will play some mini games while waiting people or something. Which is better and more reliable, stable?
*
Actually, both of this phones are great. I will list out some details and my personal opinions so that you can choose between this two.

Sony Xperia ZL - better screen resolution 1080 x 1980 FULL HD (which is important to me) compared to 720 x 1280 of ZR, 5 inch display which is great as I am using the phone for the same reason as yours(social, average camera usage, light and moderate gaming, walkman).

Sony Xperia ZR - waterproof(which I dont need), smaller size factor(some will like it, some will not, for me 5 inch of ZL is still ok).

You will notice that ZR is a newer phone which released in may 2013 while ZL is a bit older released in march 2013 but in specs wise, both are having the same hardware except for better screen resolution for ZL and waterproof for ZR. And you need to see the real unit for yourself. ZL is a beauty, small bezel and feel better in the hand. I even rate ZL higher than Z because of this + dedicated camera button.

Yes I'm biased towards ZL because i owned it, but seriously bro, see this picture also can make decision :

thanks ammoshaf.  The dock really is a nice addition to the water proof phone feature.  Any idea how much that cost cause if i'm getting the phoen i most likely need to buy 2 of those dock charger, one for home and one at work place.

The xperia XZ is the upgrade version of xperia ZR also with water proof feature?
The Z1 is also water proof?
*
No problem bro. Actually ZR is the downgraded version of Z because Z was released earlier. And Z1(newest flagship) is the upgraded version of Z. You can get AP unit of Z for RM1.5K and RM1.7K for ori unit, not sure about the ZR though as the RRP is higher than ZL. The dock price as stated by Wind.

Give it some time bro, actually im also quite disappointed with battery life. I got my unit 2days ago all are excellent except for battery life. Maybe i give it some charging cycle, try to off some google service or just flash some custom rom to see how the battery life differ.

Try disable 'Devices' and 'Google+' at settings > apps > all.

Those 2 apps consume alot of power, at least for me. lol  wink.gif

Thanks bro, but when I disable google+ it automatically uninstalled the app. And i cant found any app named "devices" in setting > Apps> all

Something wrong there with your phone either software or hardware side. I been using XZ since April and found it has the most stable stock rom compare to others. My phone easily hit 4hr+ SOT. With my usage, I unplug at 7am and got around 60~70% battery left at 7pm(SOT around 1.5 hours), so I would say the battery life is more than sufficient for my usage. Maybe you should install batterystats app to check what's running behind that drain your battery  smile.gif
