Hey guys, I have this beautiful 40" Titanic model purchased via eBay in April this year. While she is still in good shape overall, Titanic suffered a devastating fall from the display area, a few months back, and broke her two masts. From the picture shown in the next posting, there is cellophane tape that I used to rejoin the broken pieces (together with super glue) but unfortunately, this caused her "cables" to somehow lose their firmness and became bent (the mast at the hull is also slanted). Her real ancestor does not have such "crooked" cables somehow... Even at the Titanic's stern, you can see that one of her propellers has fallen off although I've ordered a replacement from eBay and it should be reaching Malaysian shores in the coming days. As such, I wish to find out whether anyone of you here has someone that is recommended for model ship recommendation. I know that there are many modeling shops in town but I wonder who does such a restoration exercise... Thank you in advance! This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Sep 9 2013, 05:03 PM

The two masts have cellphone tape (white), and also, the one at the hull is bent... Also, notice that the ship has lost her propeller (just next to the crane at right) This post has been edited by THTgadgets.com: Sep 9 2013, 05:02 PM

I dunno if it would work. But i think you could re cast the mast again. Buy those 2 part epoxy glue, some specify multi purpose use one. If your mast is sized like a straw, then could just attach on end to the broken one pour some epoxy glue inside then attach it. Later can cut out the plastic straw, sand paper the bits and paint back. This is theory only la. About the propellers, you could use an soft drink can, draw a propeller shape and cut it. Paint to match if needed. Then attach with some epoxy glue. I think could work. Maybe la.

Hmmm, I can try... But the thing is that this Titanic was bought already-built, which means there's a risk of having to re-separate her masts to stick everything back into order... Wish there was a model ship restoration expert locally, in the mould of, say, UK-based Premier Ship Models (www.premiershipmodels.com) or American Marine Model Gallery (www.shipmodel.com)...
