A series of unfortunate events have hit Mont Kiara Bayu over the years. One of them is a dead body was found in a refrigerator at auction unit on the 19th floor. It was found by the new owner of the unit while he was cleaning the unit. Even though everything should have been cleared and settled by now, there is still sentiment by the locals about the condominium and absolutely the unit. Due to the case, the unit was set back for auction property. There was also report saying that the whole units on the floor are unoccupied due to the case.

Furthermore very recently, there has been a case where the son of Federal Commercial Crimes director Comm Datuk Koh Hong Sun died in a fire at their family home at Mont Kiara Bayu. The whole event has been caught live in a video cam, where a man shouting frantically for help from the balcony of the 32nd-floor condominium unit.
