Looking at your home renovation makes me want to buy another place and do another renovation project. But unfortunately still recuperating... the mind is willing but the pocket is dry.

Haha...having renovation is truly stressful but it's excitement of watching the transformation is priceless too I guess...  smile.gif
The 'bad eyes' that wanting to change almost everything and desires for all the 'good' and pricey stuffs is definitely the killer bomb...tongue.gif

I think yours will sure gonna be a big project, looking at all your post on home designs... biggrin.gif

Finished mine almost 2 years ago already and living in it now. A lot of smaller things still not done with regards to decor and other smaller furniture, just stuck to the basic stuff. While there were some things that i wasn't very happy with but honestly in every renovation there is always something the owner doesn't like. Good thing is though that it is not obvious to guests unless pointed out. wink.gif

Big project? ...can only dream about it for the time being.

True also...i think 650 little should be already good for me as there is only 2 of us at home...i think in future if got kids also enough geh...  tongue.gif
Now im just undecided which brand to get, samsung with digital inverter, 10 years guarantee; Toshiba's without digital inverter but with 5 stars energy saving and 12 yrs guarantee. Obviously, Toshiba's looks more impressive with the fiber glass door...  wub.gif

Think of constantly wiping off finger prints... all this mirror finish items usually takes more care to look nice.

Concrete table top for the semi-recessed basin. It will be the Johnson Suisse Arosa.

Making the concreate table for the counter top basin JS Jupiter. We found that the concrete height is too high as there gonna be a counter top basin sitting on it..we are lucky that the error was identify early hence avoided major hacking...

Nice progress.

Yup... always good to let your contractor see the type of sink and faucets you'll be using or at least bring it to the site and see for yourself. Better safe than sorry.

The water closets, basins, and faucets are already sent to the site. The plumbing work is done by an indon guy and i had so far pointed out few errors on the plumbing job... Perhaps there was communication break down in between him and the site supervisor.....
That makes me so busy keeping an eye on the details...until wanna go back home town also feel so uneasy to leave...

Perfectly normal to have to keep a close eye for things they've missed.

Unfortunately, mine is in further delay as it's my turn now that the tiling sifu has gone missing in action.... doh.gif
The contractor said the sifu is not picking up calls for couple of days...they had just came for 2 days of work and gone missing just like that there after.......speechless, is the word...  shocking.gif
The contractor is also pissed with the irresponsible act by them and he will be getting me another team of tiling sifu next week...he says this other team are also experienced sifus... So, what now? I can only pray hard-hard that he gets me some good ones...

As the big day is soon approaching...i have left with no choice but be practical and most probably using my current place (a studio unit in PJ) as the brides room....
My current place is actually now in a tremendous mess....with loads of stuff and boxes stacked up here and there (many things bought for new hse and lots of packed boxes)... I can hardly move around as the clumsy me always knock/kick into something and hurt my legs/toes....  sweat.gif
Feel upset that my dream of getting married in our new sanctuary is not going to realise now.... cry.gif  cry.gif

Firstly... congratulations on your big day!!

Renovations are like that... it usually takes a great deal longer than many estimate. Look on the bright side... at least you don't have to rush and get a place that is just finished renovation cleaned. That is seriously some back breaking work to clean all the dusty areas.

Sub-contractors going missing is also another common thing. The electrical guy who worked on my place will never get any other projects from me or my friends because of his irresponsible behaviour. But life's like that... when it throws you lemons... you do your best to turn them into lemonade.

Ya...I understand that life wouldn't be turning up exactly as what we want. I'm adjusting myself to accept the fact and telling myself that I would rather want a better workmanship than a rough job results from the rushing...
I hope life could throw me some honey too...so that i can make it into some honey lemon....  smile.gif

The honey is coming... its the day you walk into your newly completed home, kick back on the sofa and admire the result of all that hard work and money spent. smile.gif

First of all, the hse doesn't belongs to me yet, it belongs to the bank to be exact.
Used to work in some MNCs and worked in oversea before. Hubby and I are running some small biz right now.
For the renovation, it's our hard savings thru out many years (sounds like someone's wifey but I'm not as easy as her  tongue.gif )
I'm already in my thirties btw. Nothing comes easy, and so does our journey. However, I think I'm just a tiny little kacang compared others. Just like you, I'm also curious how does others make their money and afford those luxury semi-D, bangalow and luxury cars. I really dreamt about it...tell you this and pls don't laugh at me, I'm just drving a 7 years old Myvi.  blush.gif

7 year old car nothing to be shy about lar... mine's like 16 yrs old.

Bathroom in master bedroom. The raised floor is for the free standing bath tub.

Another bathroom at the upper floor. As you can see, the feature wall is not in full panel as we have overlooked that the water outlet is very near the window. If we had noticed this problem earlier, we should have either switch the water outlet or place the feature wall on another panel of wall. Hmmm....since it is now too late for changes, we can only try hard to convince ourself that it doesn't look as bad....

Hi adrianjc,

where and how much you got it ?? any good deal around ?
*
Got it from a shop in paramount gardens called Sunyang. It's just behind the post office.
Price wise, got it in 2011 so am pretty sure the prices would have changed.

Best to check directly with the shop.
