I've bought my indoor & outdoor water filter from Nesh during Homedec last year Oct. The Indoor filter has been installed right away at my current place while the outdoor's will only be installed in my new place later.

I paid RM4608 for the indoor Qoozo series (Ozonation + filtration system) & the membrane outdoor pre-filter. I remembered I was their last customer the very last day of that Homedec event, who has won away the big prize of their lucky draw, a standalone Qoozo mini worth RM1798. This Ozone system combines with the faucet to allow instantaneous fusion of water and ozone that creates water that purifies, sterilizes and deodorises.

There are so many types of water filtration system in the market and I was so confused when I was introduced to Elken's RO water, Amway's E-spring, Alkaline water, etc. I've listened to each brands selling their products giving the pros of theirs and explaining the cons on others competitor's. So, I realised that there will not be a perfect system because each products has its flaws.
Thus, I decided to choose a basic one with affordable price, not too expensive kinda annual maintenance and good filtration. Will avoid RO and Alkaline water at the moment due to its controversial findings. I just need basic and clean water. The ozonation system from Nesh is just an extra features which I can use it to wash vegetables and meats.

It's a table top filter but it comes in such a cute penguin design. tongue.gif

The penguin filter comes with ozone system which can be used to wash vegetables and meats.

Yup, it was done by their technician. PVC valve is easier to be weared off, and gonna cause leakage then...

Yup, I learned the hard way, and replaced it by my own. Cheaper too that way. The plumber want to charge me RM 250. I only spend 100+ for 3 brass/metal valve, few feet PVC and some connectors.

Free installation usually use PVC valve.

Good thing that you are handy. Most of the times, little job also ended up with hundreds... coz they factored in their workmanship, travelling petrol and their time stuck in traffic (for those who lives in klang valley especially)!! Haha...

Some reviews on the 4" AZ e-lite Led down lights:

The down lights are great and very bright but not suitable in a smaller room with ceiling fan. The lights are just too bright and the angle of lights are just too "wide", causing flickering shadow of the fans on the walls. It is best to be installed in a wider space without ceiling fan. They are great in my kitchen, family hall, car porch and some corners which is further away from the fan.

The following picture showed our 1st, 2nd and lastly the third attempt on another pic to replace the 2pcs 4" down lights to 4pcs led spot lights (eyeballs). The vendor agreed to allow an exchange to their led eyeballs with topping up of the difference.

A side note: I was so stupid to have installed the ceiling fan before the laminate floor. The surface of the ceiling fan are all sticked with the wood dust now.... sweat.gif

The downlights are very bright and only 2 pcs of it were on when the comparison pics taken as follows.

Comparison with the neighbor's T8 light.

Comparison with another neighbor's normal energy savings down lights (2pcs were on too).

One of my neighbor house is rented to a few decent working adults. Ya...the house looks kinda run down because the owner himself is working and residing in Hong Kong. He seldom comes back. I asked why don't the tenant request their landlord to repaint the house but he said better don't provoke, otherwise the owner revise their rent lagi rugi because their current rental is actually way lower than market as the owner is probably not aware that his property has gone up so much in price and rental value.... doh.gif

err... Actually my house also nothing to be jealous of...there are lots more houses with more extensive and nicer reno in the neighborhood, mine is just happened to be on a bigger contrast next to the most 'basic' unit in the neighborhood... sweat.gif

since they are decent working adults, why don u propose to them and ask them to pay for ur painter to paint the exterior of the house? probably can use some of ur remaining paint as well since i am sure u r not going to keep those except for minor touch up in future.

i think most important is how u appreciate ur own house and don't really have to compare with other ppl. some they have spent so much on the structure and later they don have enough money to refurnish inside the house. and based on current situation, i think it's good to keep low profile on the exterior smile.gif inside u can put gold toilet bowl also nvm ... for e.g. may be ur neighbour is having a toilet bowl made of gold and yet no one suspect anything since the exterior itself already didn't quite draw anyone's attention smile.gif

appreciate if you could do a detailed walkthrough of your house once completed.

First of all...i really don't think a tenant would want to paint the property for the landlord...at least I know I won't, if I'm the tenant.. Painting a dsl ain't cheap eh..... sweat.gif
Moreover, the painting procedure is kinda tedious as the first step definitely gonna be removing the mold using the high pressure jet, to prevent the mold resurface...
Also, the painting is done by the main con, the charges are including paint material. So, the remaining paint are not belong to me... tongue.gif

A walkthrough of my house? Means that you guys will know where I hide my pure gold toilet bowl lor!? LOL!! biggrin.gif
Haha...just kidding, definitely will when I finish the furnishing... smile.gif

I prefer the backwash pipe to face inward so that I can save the water for washing car porch or watering the plant. wink.gif

Installation of Alarm system and Autogate system:-

QUOTE(maxxon @ Oct 18 2013, 12:12 AM)
I'm getting the Paradox SP6000 alarm system from one of the guy who has been mentioned by many forumers here, Winson (012-2060138)

Before I approach Winson, I went to the Paradox exhibitor in homedec. In general, many of us think that the fair exhibitor must be the main/sole distributor hence should be offering the best price in town, especially in a fair. We soon realize that's not true at all.
For eg., ref to attached quotation, this exhibitor quoted me total of RM2630 for SP6000 with 2 nos PIR motion detectors and upgraded 1 nos LCD keypad. Before I commit the deal, I decided to ring Winson for a benchmarking, and I'm glad that I did so, coz I have another few hundred bucks savings in the pocket!

Besides that, I'm also getting the autogate system from Winson, DC Moto 925W at RM1400.

I set an appointment with him last Wednesday for the alarm wiring. I texted him my add and thought of handing him the money/deposit on the day he comes to do wiring. I didn't receive any call from him on Wed so I thought he didn't turn up...but to my surprise on the next day when I visited the site, all alarm wiring already done! He did the wiring without taking deposit...  hmm.gif  This guy really trust me huh!? Hahaha!  thumbup.gif

*
Winson came for the installation this morning. Basically, I'm a happy customer. Happy with his prompt response, workmanship, clear briefing on usage mathod and of course the most important the price and what I get.

Got the Paradox SP6000 with one additional LCD keypad and a few additional PIR motion detectors. Comparing with another 2 installers, I think I've got a pretty good bargain again with hundreds of savings. He doesn't want me to put the price in public here as he felt like someone is trying to sabotage him in Lyn.... sweat.gif

Frankly, he is a nice guy and asked me do not hesitate to call him even at night if I've problem with the alarm, as he afraid I can't remember everything in one day. He has also relocated one of the PIR motion detector per my request without saying much...

The standard keypad

Besides the 3 pcs remote control, it also comes with a wall switch. There are also panic buttons on the remote controls and the wall switch for the alarming noise when emergency happens. So, i think it's a good idea to put one remote control close to the bed (eg. In the chest drawer). We may activate the panic button and alarm when attention needed.

Went to Houz depot and got some items as follows:-

Hafele door guard (RM17.90) - to be installed in bedroom for extra security feature.
user posted image

Magnetic door holder (RM18) - to prevent banging of door on windy days.
user posted image

Ausco Napoli stainless steel toothbrush holder (RM81, after discount = RM48.60)
This little holder is damn heavy.... sweat.gif
I recommend you this type of holder or any other type which hold the brush at the neck but not a container/cup holder type.
Reason being the cup holder tends to accumulate water inside it and causes mold (the black stain) to grow on our toothbrush.

Rubine s/s single towel rail (RM85, after 40% discount = RM51)
user posted image

Rubine s/s double hooks (RM50, after 40% discount = RM30)

Rubine s/s 400mm Grab bar for the bath tub (RM125, after 40% discount = RM75)

I've seen that there is some recent trends in LYN to buy online from the vendor in China. Frankly, I would not do so for the purchase of those major fittings in the house, for other decor stuff maybe yes.
- I prefer to hold it and see it before I pay. I pay for what I get. This is especially on buying those fittings that involve installation. (Imagine the frustration if things are spoilt and it need to be un-installed)!
- i do not need to wait for shipment or re-shipment if goods need replacement.
- I prefer to get something selling in the local shop and from the established brand so that I know who to go to when there is problems with the purchase.
- most of the established brand give years of warranty. (Getting hold of the vendor's customer service is much easier here).
- i do not see much savings to buy online. The medium range products that I've bought (eg. Johnson suisse, rubine, filton, HCE, etc) is very good enough in terms of their quality and finishing for the medium price range.
- Sorry to say that but I'm still lacking of confidence towards the quality from the unknown brand from China.

Pls do not get offended if you did or plan to buy online from China website. The above are just my VERY PERSONAL opinions. I might want to buy some small things from them later, who knows? icon_rolleyes.gif

Buying online I have some requirements :
1. must be cheaper than market price for 50%.
2. some odd stuffs.
3. no time to source the stuffs(which online shopping are picking up a good trend)
And for house stuffs, once installed it will be used for few years.
As for me, I'll always scout around hardware shops to compare the price, also with my uncle a renovation contractor, so I can roughly find the shop that gives bang for buck price.

Agreed, but from my understanding on no.1, things from China are "Cheap things no good; Good things no cheap". So, if no cheap, I rather bet my money on other established brand.... tongue.gif

was looking for a grill like this. but my contractor said black is a bad choice as repeated use would cause it to scratch off where the hinges are. so he advised me to go for the original metal look.

did you installer mention this? i really want it in black sweat.gif
