C++ outdated?? I think it'll NEVER be outdated. There's now .NET version of C++ and it's used in lots of application. Frankly, i think here in Malaysia, we don't have enough of REALLY GOOD C++ programmer...that is why we can't compete with western countries in areas of latest technology and software becoz we're simply lagging too far behind.
For the threadstarter, i think you need to know WHAT INDUSTRY you want to get in. For Banks and some insurance companies. COBOL is still the mainstream. If you intend to go into that industry, then it'll help to have knowledge of COBOL to start with.
If your interest is high tech software, internet, telecommunication, yadda yadda, then please don't waste your time with COBOL.
As for SAP, i last heard we've had like several thousands of em SAP consultant...is it still hot?? I'm not sure. Any SAP consultant here??
Cheers.
