SOme of the sales staff thr are rather stuck up wan la... i mean if i ask are thr any discounts, dont tell me you'll give me one if i purchase a huge amount... i dont like my time wasted layaning dicks like this la... better to gimme some bullshit reason than tat...

welp.... i can only give you two reasons....

1. Mac prices are kinda fixed by Apple Malaysia, not these resellers, so i doubt they'll be willing to give discounts unless there happened to be store promotions or pc-fair carnival of some sort.

2. From my experience (nope, I don't work for any of these resellers), there's just too many customers asking for too many discounts when in fact, these resellers have had their hands tied by Apple Malaysia when it comes down to Mac prices, unless of course you're working for them, but that's a different story.

As to your reference of the stucked-up sales staff, there's nothing much you can expect from them, it's either they have poor communication skills, or your expectations are too high, in this case, it is very subjective....

dsiew, PC Fair promos also are fixed by Apple Asia. The individual resellers are NOT ALLOWED to run independent promos. This is to prevent the Apple brand being reduced in value.

Guys, Eithanius is right... we can't simply give discounts. Even the volume discounts are subject to HQ approval... so so sorry

Funny how people call others 'dicks' just because they don't give you discount. Aren't we a nation of cheapskates. Heh.

the discount may be somethin i was looking for but hey, if it's not possible, juz say "Our prices are fixed... bla bla bla...".... dont get all smart-alecky and say some smart ass bullshit like buy alot la... then i give u cheaper... as if i dont know tat's possible if i buy loads...

So, my calling tat sales person a d*** is not because of the non discount but rather he has a shitty attitude... :-)

i agree with u supafreak.. as a salesman, they have to polite and respect customer, of course everybody knew that branded notebook have their own retail price but it is normal to ask for discount, that is how u learn to know is the salesman/shop is appreciating their customer or not!

i can get rm100 - 250 discount of any notebook from windows to apple but i still ask for more discount, who knows i might have a luck on that day?!

aaronchin i dont know who u area where u live and what u do, but u really TALK BIG.. higher education just mean for higher salary but doesnt mean for higher attitude and higher respect for others, and get respected from others! but that is okey, everybody have their own attitude and thats make the world goes round

In fact nowadays profit margin for those resellers can merely pay the rental and salary for workers, somehow I also pity them cos most of them are having loss over months already.

They will hav price cut only IF the manufacturer/distributors drop the price.

Now we're talking about higher education? I can hardly understand what you're saying but higher education doesn't necessarily mean higher salary. Oh well. And I believe I'm entitled to my opinion, I'm certainly not here to make you happy.

i actually find the macshop in lowyat lost, most of them were brought up in the window environment or simply lack knowledge abt mac... i was once asking about the possibility of ibook replacement model (now macbook), this sales guy just told me that apple is lauching g6 soon... wtf...

however, i do agree that some sales staff at macasia might need to have their anus clear, but i do find that they genuinely understand mac products better...

Dudes, i juz spoke to Kah Wai frm Cycom... he's super helpful... i truly suggest prospective macbook buyers to look him up... ETA of the macs is beginning July... but hv to place order ASAP...

btw, i dont work in Cycom... i juz appreciate good help...

I guess the treatment u got does not apply only to Mac centers.. Most businesses need to be more customer friendly.. consumers just want more bang for their buck.. some try to squeeze whereas others just try their luck.. my experience with Macasia at GE Mall wa good.. very friendly..

first-time mac owner....? i supposed you've placed your order on an MB....

and here you are still pondering if it's a right move for you....?

nvm, at least if you think you've made the wrong move later, you can still install Windows via BootCamp...

i hv not placed any orders yet tho.. need to do so fast mer?... maccity in PJ is super friendly too... juz spoke to a very nice lady called Helen... she suggested i not jump the gun and go order first... instead, she ask me to to the shop and try the demo machine first when it arrives... to make sure i get wat i want...

reason i come to this sub forum is becoz i juz wanna listen to all kinds of comments abt macs...

the only reason tat entice me to go the mac way is bootcamp!... i most surely will install xp pro... hheheh...

oh ya... spoke to Cindy frm MacStudio in LYP too.. she said thr'll be a notebook bargain thingie on the 12 June... and she's hoping the macs arrive by then cause if they do, then there'll be bundlings and etc...
