if you enable removable disk option in itunes,
the ipod can be plugged into any windows pc and recognized without a driver... search google for more info.. even cnet.com has a guide on this... edit: sorry.. NOT all windows pc, only windows 2000 and xp This post has been edited by swhung: May 30 2006, 03:55 PM |

IMHO, the iPod Nano comes with a CD installer which contains the iTunes, the USB Cable Driver and other stuff I guess... In order to connect my iPod 2 PC, I need 2 install the USB Cable Driver...but since my CD-ROM cannot access the CD...how am I gonna connect my iPod to my PC without installing the driver? So need you guys help to share with me the driver... |

I told you there's no such thing as iPod nano USB cable driver. Everything works out of the box as long as you have a USB 2 port, heck it'll work even if it's USB 1.1, just that the songs transfer will take forever.
What you need to do is download the latest iTunes from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and download the iPod Updater from: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ to put the latest firmware on your iPod nano. That's it. No USB cable driver. |

QUOTE(Mike3300 @ May 30 2006, 04:21 PM) ... And just so you know, IMHO stands for "In my humble opinion" - iPod Nano comes with a CD is not your opinion, it's a fact... If you insist of using a net-jargons, it should be AFAIK (As far as I know) for you sentence IMHO, the iPod Nano comes with a CD installer which contains the iTunes, the USB Cable Driver and other stuff I guess... ... |

To make life easier...
The iPod Nano USB cable driver is called... Apple iTunes. Download it at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Reboot your machine, plug in yer white cable, connect your iPod and the "New Hardware Detected" rubbish will appear. From there you can start loading yer iPod with lovely music! Even without iTunes installed, your PC will end up detecting the iPod flash drive, you can copy your pron or other "valuable" stuff innit ONLY though. If you hate iTunes or have a really old / slow computer (but still have AT LEAST a USB 2.0 port), you can either use third-party software like Anapod explorer (http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/)! |

It comes with iTunes , its bulit right into iTunes.....
But remember do not ever format your iPod using Windows Format tool , otherwise your iPod would not be your iPod , instead It would be a HDD. If you wish to format it , please use the iPod Firmware Upgrade tool |
