Hey guys, am quite a n00b to cooling. It's an old pc, but i had to change the mobo and casing.
it's now a medium tower casing running the following :
P4 2.0Ghz 2x 512mb DDR Ram 40gb 5400 RPM HDD 250gb 7200 RPM HDD Samsung CD-RW ASUS DVD-ROM 128mb Radeon 5200 GPU 5.1 Creative Live! Sound Card 6 USB ports all used up Silverstone Strider ST400 400W PSU
All i can say is that everything is overheating , especially my 250gb HDD
The casing only has 2 grills for fans - rear and left side i'm planning to get two 92mm fans , but i'm not sure which air flow i should do.
Hope someone can help me out

you will need to buy a fan that's compatible with your socket 775, that's all

when you go to a store, (i recommend ALL IT Hypermarket) at LowYat floor 3, just tell them you have a socket 775 processor and you want to get a new Heat Sink Fan (HSF) and tell them you want a quiet one, and then they'll teach u there and then

guys, what about a Socket 478 HSF that would be silent and efficient?
currently using Volcano 7+ , it tends to get a bit noisy :s

Styloe - i was thinking of the xp120 or the zalman 9500 which would be better?
aka 1) which would be more silent whilst still be efficient?

Ok the thing is that my socket 478 mobo is not one of those high tech ones it's a MSI PM8M-V , with chipset VIA P4M800 the xp120 looks quite huge.. :s also, which of the two (zalman 9500, xp120) does NOT require external brackets? meaning i can just use the stock intel bracket without having to take out my mobo to install additional brackets for my mobo?
