start wif 600 ah? not too rough? anyway..wats the final one to use to make mirror finis? 1500enough? 1600?
*
It depends on your heatsink base... thumbup.gif
If the base is very rough, start with a rough sand paper...
If it's kinda nice, start with a better sand paper...
1000 maybe...

Siauann, i finish my lapping with 2000 grit...
Lapped to a mirror finished... thumbup.gif

currently im looking for aftermarket heat sinks...
ive narrowed my search to these

1. THERMALTAKE Pipe 101 Rev. 2.0 Combo Cool Heatsink for Intel P4 LGA775, AMD K7, K8

2. THERMALTAKE Tower 102 Combo Cool Heatsink for Intel P4 LGA775, AMD K7, K8

3.  GIGABYTE Neon Cooler 775 Series

well..my budget is only around ~rm100
i dun have much money to spend for now
jes got the pc for 2 weeks...
anyone can help me decide a.s.a.p
TQS GUYSSSSSSSSSSSS

[cool.gif
***plz feel free to suggest others tat u tink is good tat is ~rm100***...tqs~[/B]

*
I think you should get a higher performance heatsink rather then getting all those crappy heatsink you mention here...
My suggestion is, get a Hyper 6+...
Find another RM60, then buy it from moderno... thumbup.gif

It's RM160.00 rclxms.gif

With that heatsink, i think you should get a very much lower temperature instead... thumbup.gif

Shawty was replying to my post on noisy fan. I have to dig out the HSF, I chucked it into store room oredi. I guess its suppose the stock should have copper base right? Never got around to investigate, anyway I love my Zalman 9500 I got to replace the stock hsf.

Now I learnt my lesson oredi, everything buy and assemble at home. Cant trust the fxxxers...

ahhh...i think with jayacom u just need to ask the right questions..
i went there... and yeah... the 'main guy' wasnt too bothered about me..
he was a malay guy...kinda stuck up...arrogant...

but after i started asking questions that made sense... he realised he wasn't dealing with some window shopper. so yeah.... he did treat me well in the end...

actually i support that store!
btw, shawty..i bought my PSU there.. jayacom smile.gif

about the hyper 6... thanks for ur answers peeps... haha.. didn't know that  even with that amount of weight the casing could stand it...
*
Offcourse it can support Hyper 6+... thumbup.gif

Any board can also support a much heavier full copper heatsinks... thumbup.gif
But u have to make sure that u lock the heatsink nice and tight wink.gif

Not to tight coz it will kill your mobo... tongue.gif

hmmm......i do believe by not skipping any of the board to case screw spot is a must to ensure ur board have the enuf tension to support it...worst come to worst if u concern bout it...u may as well add some support system to the hsf....
*
Absolutely true...
Do not even miss one screw holes as this might break your motherboard... rclxub.gif

A new update on my "5.25 Rom Bay Mini Air Conditioner" icon_rolleyes.gif

My brother and his friends is in the process of making a mini air conditioner that fits in two of 5.25 rom bays... thumbup.gif

It's 85% complete... rclxms.gif

The mini air conditioner is still in the process...
There is still a lot of condensation...
It's been tested in a cheapo casing...
With no hardwares inside... icon_rolleyes.gif

It's still under test and modification... wink.gif

Sorry that i can't post any picture here... rclxub.gif
My brother says that i can't post it here coz he's afraid someone will "tiru" his designs... laugh.gif

guess wat
im really dissapointed at the moment with my hyper 6+
its not decreasing the the tempt at all =(
its still around ~60'C.......same lik me running on stock HSF
*
It can't be...
No way!!!

Hey, you're using that Hyper 6+ for socket 478 right? blink.gif

There's two question that leads from that 60Celcius temperature...

1) Did you make the fan to turn at the Maximum speed?
2) Did you put any thermal paste between the base of the heatsink and on the top of the processsor?

the thermal paste was runnig low though
and btw....i cant control my fan la bro....dunno y
running on d945gnt mobo (intel).....prescott 3.0 930
*
Yes you can't...
Because it has LGA775 motherboard has a PWM controller...
That is, 4 pin fan connecter...
Different from normal 3 pin fan...

This is my advice:
Put that 4 pin fan connecter on any of the motherboard 3 pin fan header...
Don't put it on the motherboard 4 pin fan connecter...

After that, make a jumper like this:

Today I upgrade HSF after searching high and low in LYP (exlude OCP, they open so late) I finally bought a Gigabyte G-Power (GH-PDU21-SC) from All IT. Most other shops no AM2 cooler for sale.

After adding this + some AS5 I see around 13% improvements and now testing to see how stable at 2.7GHz. Previousl load was 67~69C@2.7GHz, now is 59~60C@2.7GHz.
I prolly won't go higher for normal use cos generally I set guideline at 60C max for CPU.

Shawty pls add me:
vey99 ~ AMD 3500+ Orleans AM2 @ 2.7GHz ~ Gigabyte G-Power ~ Idle 40°C, Load 59°C

Vey99, u are in the list...

wahh, I am eager to buy that Gigabyte G-Power cooler for my socket A cpu.. however, this time not permitted me to buy it now. I have to wait till I am sure my budget allow to buy this cooler  sad.gif There something important than to replace my old heatsink at this moment.

vey99, mind to tell me if there still some stock of this Gigabyte G-Power cooler? how much it priced? Maybe next month, I able to grab one.
*
You can buy it anytime from "moderno"...
It's cheaper than buying at lowyat plaza... icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, if you insist on buying at lowyat plaza, yes, offcourse the stock will always be there, but i suggest you go around and ask for the heatsink price first as different shops are selling at different prices... icon_rolleyes.gif
