QUOTE(-kytz- @ Sep 6 2013, 12:22 PM) Omate is pretty interesting. Would be interesting to know the price Neptune is way too big the Omate will retail at an estimated USD299 at launch. Kickstarter prices are about USD199 now (add USD15 for delivery out of US, and add USD20 for 1GB of RAM) what's a good point also is that right now, all of the watches will feature sapphire crystal, which is extremely durable and scratch resistant. None of the above wearables feature this yet. And yes, the Pine is huge... like wearing a pager on your wrist! Also, the Omate is running 4.2.2, while the Pine is running ICS only This post has been edited by jerm: Sep 6 2013, 12:41 PM

I am getting SD separately, cheaper locally I believe. As for the 8gb, not every app can be moved to SD, and depending on how they implement the built in storage and how many apps you wanna stuff into the watch, 4gb (usable probably 2gb) may not be enough. I upped my pledge, due to limited places, but may move back to 199 near the end, depending on how this project goes, as the current amount i'm paying is going over what i initially would have wanted to invest in.

sunnyboy, if you're going for the rooted version, you can switch the internal/external cards in fstab, i believe. it's a possibility, but i'm not sure how stable this is, as there have been hit and miss cases on xda reported, i've come across before.
Also, the tendency of your external card breaking before the internal could be higher, and if that happens, you lose all your apps/settings/data (this is in the hope that Omate does not scrimp on the on-board storage chip quality)

If you already have an Amazon account, the USD15 will be automatically added to your total amount. Add the rest as you see fit
Usd 5 for an extra cable Usd 20 for 1gb ram
Etc

i wasn't in early enough for the Oct edition, only the Nov edition.
If you were an "original" October edition, and moved to another pledge, they will still honor the October delivery for you, as they have the list of backers for the first 1000 pledges in that pledge. The only thing you might miss is just the serial numbers, which for me, isn't a biggie

regarding the AI smartwatch, before you pledge, make sure you read up and understand that it is very likely a rebrand of a china model that's currently being sold http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/29/ai-andr...atch-indiegogo/

QUOTE(blaze91 @ Oct 3 2013, 10:30 AM) neotune pine looks cool too i have a love/hate relationship with the pine, lol. sometimes it's really cool looking, sometimes it's just too OTT. very large screen for a wearable, though. one good thing about that is you can remove the device from the strap. bad thing is you got to do that when taking a pic

is the Apple SW really coming out soon? Soon is really subjective...it was only about a month ago i believe that they were starting to hire people for wearables tech
if the apple sw does come out, i guess it's constrained to the apple ecosystem, and not open, like the GG and SW2.
The Omate, however........

QUOTE(chkhoo76 @ Oct 5 2013, 10:50 PM) if it does come out as rendered like that, i'll be damn impressed current battery tech will never allow the watch to be that slim, even if mounted elsewhere, nor is the current state of miniaturization of components This post has been edited by jerm: Oct 10 2013, 03:07 PM
