Hey there people, I'm planning on getting a Geforce GTX 760 2Gb DDR5.
But I have a Asus FIA55-M LX PLUS motherboard.
I'm just not sure if my motherboard can support the card cause it only support DDR3 memory. Does that have anything to do with the graphic card slot?

No, Your motherboard bottlenecking your Graphic card, it cannot perform a 100% usage on the board . Means u wont get 100% power from the graphic card smile.gif

i dont see any prob with the bottlenecking.. although it does bottlenecking, the main cause would be ur processor not mobo.. as u said the mobo only support ddr3, it actually means ur physical desktop ram, not ur gc vram.. the gtx760 gddr5 still can be supported and perform well..

let say if ur processor really bottleneck ur gc, i think only 1-5fps drop la.. wont be a major issue for u to concern. Unless u really wan to unleash the full potential of gtx 760, then u gonna upgrade both ur proc and mobo. Proc=4 cores above, mobo= at least can support pci-e 3.0

The mobo's support for DDR3 system RAM has nothing to do at all with your graphic card's GDDR5 VRAM, as it is a separate entity all together. It has no problem whatsoever to support the graphic card, as long it's a PCI-E x16 based(which most modern cards are these days).

GDDR5 is VRAM, nothing to do with DDR3 ram

built a rig with 780 + B75 + i5 3470.
don't see any bottleneck issue.
