Sometimes we need high quality stream for official live cast. Why do it? Because we can.

To the TS, you will need a HDMI input card and a really good Internet speed.

I never had a dslr shut down due to overheat before. I use them for over 30 minutes recording before.

Understood (the high quality stream part and not the because we can part tongue.gif) Sorry to ask further as I find this topic really interesting.

Why not something like this? Not HD enough? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1217382/all

Because you can't zoom with that.
Because you can't control the exposure manually with that
Because the sensor/dynamic range isn't as wide
Because optically, it's just not as good

Head to 3 minute 45 second for how they do a live stream.
Compare their live stream quality with your regular webcam stream.

For certain situations, absolutely.
If not TV stations might as well use Webcams too.

If it's just for skype to say Hi to someone, a regular webcam will do.

But if it's for a live stream/cast with a large enough audience, I don't see what's wrong with better quality video.

If you still can't accept it.
How about this, some people would spend top dollars on getting something relatively worthless to you.
From computers, audio equipments, cameras, cars, bicycles, food, clothes.... etc etc
Sure better quality video may be worthless to you, but if they've the cash... why not?
That being said, there's a market for this(high quality live-stream solutions) so the demand is there.

We don't know for sure how much cash or how willing TS is going to spend or what he wants to use it for.
TS ask if it's possible, I just provide the means to an end.

I posted a method on how to get a good live-view/stream via http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity/
It's in the video I posted. Which answers TS question far better than any replies on this thread.

Although a bit late, nothing wrong was mentioned.
I don't see any problem with my reply.

Certainly much better than the replies saying it's a horrible idea which will badly damage the camera.
The camera at most will just switch off.

Many people have been using dslr for live streams. The replies here are as if it will screw the camera up for good.
