wifi always ON, 2 hours lte connection, 1+ hours surfing, 1 hours watching youtube, 1 hours whatsapp and line, 1 hours for email, reading article for feeds, call, etc

I had the same problem before. Had to hard-reset my phone, but I fixed the problem. It was a rather drastic action, and I had to reinstall certain apps and many of my contacts were screwed. WP backup isn't all that great.

guys, it has been 19 hours and 35 minutes since my last charge and only 8% been reduced from overall percentage, now it has 92% juice left. good or bad battery?

how come lumia phone battery can last so long har?whats the capacity?

Capacity is 2000mAh.
Battery life depends on usage and settings one lah, for my phone i off 3G, Wifi, bluetooth... hehe...

but last for 2 days,thats too much..screen brightness lowest?

Yeah screen brightness set to lowest, i feel lumia's default brightness is too bright for me...
Plus i also disabled most of the background tasks...

most ppl don't believe one....mine one is lumia 820, battery only 1650mah....can get single day battery life depends my usage...

i have 6 background tasks, low bright (which quite bright as well), always wifi on, lte on when go out, location on, other life bluetooth, nfc..i set it off causing not using it....

i think samsung and iphone cpu run very consume battery compare to windows

u can compare samsung spec with nokia spec...same cpu, 1gb/512mb ram, same battery life...also no match with nokia...

this is because optimization of OS....maybe u say multitasking of android....yeah, that's y u need to close one by one everytime. after close all, it still reserve back some ram for background task...

My Lumia 620 can last two days + on very light use.

My Lumia 620 will last from morning until 5pm if on edge and moderate whatsapp. If on 3G, i donno how long it will survive. Haha.

I think is because the phone's OS. Lumia's OS is easy and simple, maybe this has indirectly save some battery life...

I am using lumia 925.
Actually i feel lumia's battery quite tahan

Try to disable some background tasks and set screen brightness to lowest and see

i've been searching real life usage of lumia 925 in regards of battery performance. if this is true can tahan for more than 2 days, then it is sure one damn good battery inside it.

but GSMarena shows that 925 only can survive for average 43 hours or about 1.5 days though...

battery just 2000mah only...is because OS optimization. U try see android with 2000mah, last u half day...

usually u can get one day if u ON 3g/4g with normal usage which very good...

how u guys can last for 2 days? the longest my phone last for 24 hours which i ON wifi and lte half day each...

L920..

can last for at least 24 hours.. with LTE on 24x7.. WiFi on whenever needed for apps update or downloading apps..

unlike "A" phone.. 2600mAh with LTE only can last for half day..

so bad meh....

My Lumia 620 kenot last even half a day.

Unplug at 7.00 am, by 10-11 am, battery already 50%.

Just use for work related wassap, call and email.

- My workplace (Factory&Manufacturing) super low strength signal (no point of turning on data the highest i can get in the building is E)

- Very Minimal gaming. More on wechat and whatsapp (office and home can browse at PC no web browsing so much)

- Only open data or Wifi after office hours and close it back during sleep time.

*always on battery saver mode and low

optimize your setting, like off the things u don't use, nfc, bluetooth, background task...

My lumia 925's battery life quite bad too.

Full charge in the night, next day unplugged at 7am, the battery drops to almost 50% around noon.

I've set a few settings such as turning Glance to Peek mode, block all unnessary apps, nfc off, location off, using 3G data sparingly, mostly for light whatsapp usage.

My L720 is goddamn awesome.
I'll restart the phone before each unplugs to ensure the 100% charged. WP8 battery readings sucks IMO.
From morning 7am, 3G all day, some calls, games, Whatsapp, web browsing.
Turn off unnecessary settings when not in use, WiFi, Bluetooth, Tap+Send, Location, you name'em.
reaches home at 12am, battery level is at 40%. I'm PLEASED.
L720 never dies on me. Ever.

i'm not sure for other, i always on my wifi at home, outside on lte. I only off those that i'm not using like bluetooth, nfc, background agent that u not want to get update.

you can see the graph....when the line drop slowly, it usually in standby mode but got receive email, whatsapp with reply for just a while so it will not use much battery...

when the line drop tremendously, mean i'm using not stop like surf net, watch youtube, reading rss feed...

before amber update....i only can manage for 12-13hours....

but after amber update, i can easily can last for 18-20 hours for my usage....all this depends on your usage....

plz remember, my lumia 820 just have 1650 mah battery...those lumia 720 with 2000 mah easily last 1.5 days...

This is when I on wifi, data at times, turning it off from time to time when not in use, always 3G, this means that if I 24 hours on wifi, I can only last less than 12 hours.

This is when I never use the wifi or the data, just some game and using app, listening to music on headphone, always 3G.


But I still think that my 720 can do better than this. :/

Hi guys, previously i set batterty life show in lock screen is working good.
After changed the lock screen picture my battery life didnt show up in lock screen anymore.
I also tried to set the battery life show in lock screen again after change picture, but still not there. Any solution?

True. But i dunno if the developer released an update for whatsapp. It is damn hot when u use whatsapp even for 5 min. Back phone is like bbq hot plate.

Anyone uses the integrated Facebook chat within the Messaging? I felt that it drains a good amount of battery. Although it didn't bother me much but I kept feeling I'm on the edge of a dying phone.

With Wifi turned off, I noticed battery life saved a lot. Used a day til midnight, only 11% consumed with some messaging/calling.

I use it everyday, it depends, actually.. If I frequently use it, the battery drain fast, but if I didn't used it (nobody to FB chat with), the battery stays a little longer..

And this also applied to Whatsapp also.. So basically, the battery drains quickly only when the internet connection is being used.

(I use mobile data plan, never use WiFi)

So far my phone can last up to almost 2 days with very minimal data usage. Prefer to use WiFi rather than 3G as it drains not very quickly versus when using 3G turned ON

i use wifi all the time. and then i set my phone to "never" screen time out. i need to charge my phone 3 times a day. Mostly i'm using my phone for we chat, whatsapp, check emails, twitter, snap 1 or 2 pictures and do nothing just left it at my table.

where got the setting "never" screen time out...either 30seconds, 1, 3 or 5 minutes...

if got "never" time out, why always let the screen on?

i'm using win 7.8 htc 7 mozart and the it has function never time out.
i let the screen on because i want people notice my phone whenever they come to my table. sometime i charge it all the time.

under normal usage if i only usu my phone for witter only, the battery can last 3 to 4 hours.

previously my usage : data always on (3g), fb/whatsapps, light music + surfing. battery can last around 1 days ++

if turned off data, using wifi all the time, battery can easily last 4 days ++. Usage remains the same..Data connection is the main power hogger for lumia IMO.

wah 3g can last 1 day aa. so pro ur battery. me 3g sure morning till evening only

my L1520 always 3G(no LTE here) normal usage battery can last almost 2-2.5 days..
its because of their massive battery... waiting for 8.1 cyan... i heard they will be huge battery drain with DP 8.1 cyan

lasting 4 days

Using Lumia 525, my daily average use (Battery Saver always On, brightness Low):

12am-10am (sometimes until 12pm or later, depending if I'm too busy at work)- Flight mode On, no apps open

12/1pm - On Wifi, open Whatsapp and Nokia Xpress/I.E for about 20 minutes

1pm-6/7pm - No usage except for occasional quick Wifi use if got spare time.

6/7pm-10/11pm - Wifi on (not constantly but most of the evening), Whatsapp running

By end of the day I'll have used about 15-20%


BTW is Instagram Beta for WP 8.0 suppose to drain battery even when its closed?

Lumia 925, WP8.1DP (Pre-cyan), wifi/3G/LTE always on.

This was on a normal working day, intermittent usage of whatsapp, instagram, fb, baconit, calls, sms, etc...

This was the average battery life i was getting.




Battery life has dropped by at least 30% after updating to WP8.1.1DP Cyan, same usage patterns.

Average is now around 12hours
