So what's the conclusion? I got a plastic duct that came with my Fotile hood. Should I use aluminum?
Also where to buy the cap? I need a square one with a round insert for the flexible duct. Like this - |

QUOTE(idoblu @ May 3 2015, 02:29 PM) nowadays ACE cannot find anything already. i planned to buy a few things from there - all cannot find liao dunno why Don't go those small branch. Can't put much stock. Those duct and cover still there.aluminum i sked short circuit my downlights. if possible maybe i use rigid pvc pipe Why aluminium can short circuit your downlight? PVC pipe also can. It have better air flow with less resistance compare flex alu duct. But how about the size? Can it match the hole? |

QUOTE(bernking @ Dec 3 2015, 08:04 AM) You can use zinc duct. Flexible alu duct is for short distance. It give some air resistance along the wall. (Not a smooth wall) Usually you will see a short alu duct up to the main zinc duct. Just use the pvc duct. It only take longtime to breakdown. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Dec 3 2015, 08:29 AM) You can use zinc duct. they told me not to combine 2 different ducts, it's better to buy 1 duct for your required length. so i if need 4-5m then i should buy 1 x 4-5m duct (either alu or zinc or pvc)Flexible alu duct is for short distance. Im planning to self-install air ventilation in my bathroom which having plaster ceiling, do i need ducting to flow out the hot air or just without ducting let the air stay above plaster ceiling?
If yes, i will need to cut the glass on the window (plaster ceiling covered parts of the glass), which is not very big btw |

Pretty normal in industrial and restaurant. I don't no what is the reason you can't combine.4-5m is rather long. Which you alu duct will create a lot of resistance to the air. |
