So what's the conclusion? I got a plastic duct that came with my Fotile hood. Should I use aluminum?

Also where to buy the cap? I need a square one with a round insert for the flexible duct.

Don't go those small branch. Can't put much stock. Those duct and cover still there.

Why aluminium can short circuit your downlight? PVC pipe also can. It have better air flow with less resistance compare flex alu duct.

But how about the size? Can it match the hole?

hi ozak,

for my kitchen hood, if i use aluminium ducting for the first 6 ft, then the rest about (2 meters) i use PVC pipe. Is it okay?

It should be ok.

But 1 think need to be consider is the PVC pipe durability stand again the oil stain. It will take very longtime to breakdown the material.

You can use zinc duct.

Flexible alu duct is for short distance. It give some air resistance along the wall. (Not a smooth wall)

Usually you will see a short alu duct up to the main zinc duct.

Just use the pvc duct. It only take longtime to breakdown.

they told me not to combine 2 different ducts, it's better to buy 1 duct for your required length. so i if need 4-5m then i should buy 1 x 4-5m duct (either alu or zinc or pvc)

Im planning to self-install air ventilation in my bathroom which having plaster ceiling, do i need ducting to flow out the hot air or just without ducting let the air stay above plaster ceiling?
If yes, i will need to cut the glass on the window (plaster ceiling covered parts of the glass), which is not very big btw

Yes, you can combine. Pretty normal in industrial and restaurant. I don't no what is the reason you can't combine.

4-5m is rather long. Which you alu duct will create a lot of resistance to the air.

Why not just use the window glass type air ventilation.

Poorfag can only use cheap cheap like mitsubishi..
But the actual question is, can i just let the air above plaster ceiling or must ducting out? What will happrn if not using ducting? Mold grow above the plaster ceiling?
