Sorry , a bit out topic but xzu related . Was going thru xzu forums around and came across this . Seems there are a lot of users bragging off the size of xzu until 1 forumer made a comparison between xzu and his recently acquired phone , unlocked Docomo phone and made this . Seems it has the same screen + note taking features like xzu .

QUOTE(62802820 @ Sep 5 2013, 01:15 AM) Wow Pros Everything is the same The only difference is that 7" screen size, with stylus and of course the name SHARP. Dam nice wei + flash + 4000+mah battery + AOSP built Cons - heavier + thicker due to battery -lots of Docomo apps cant use in malaysia - USD800 for it or USD850 for 3 years no condition warranty ( Even if your phone involved in natural disaster and u can prove it , it's covered with a new replacement if gone missing ) This post has been edited by Noobi3: Sep 5 2013, 02:03 AM |

QUOTE(thatisazam @ Sep 6 2013, 09:48 AM) i must've missed the word 'capture' back then XD but well, same hardware, capable camera sensors. just matter of the availability of codecs (which is possible to be add in, the hard way of course) isn't it? or i'm missing something? Why are you so obese with 4K video recording ? It's still a very new tech currently and to get a 4k TV or even a tablet cuz u a bomb . Having it on Note3 is a bonus . Not having it doesn't make any difference . And with XZU current camera , do u think a 4K video will be good in quality ? Do note that most forumers resort to 3rd party camera app to get a better quality pic since stock camera app isn't that good , in fact , for a main stream device , it sucks . I rather Sony do something about their camera app then to hope to implement a 4k video recording . QUOTE(thatisazam @ Sep 6 2013, 10:08 AM) true that sony is a little late but this year Sony is very aggressive with its Z lines. I see a bright future in the effort and i'm satisfied enough for now (although still envies the camera on Z1 It's about time they do so since they cant even be top in their own country for smartphones . Brands like Fujitsu and Sharp are the dominant brands in Jp . Before this , all their main stream new release devices are 1 generation behind the latest . Xperia S , Xperia Z . Price wise however r reasonable since they r not so new . Until XZU , i dont recall a unit going over 2k for RRP but i might be wrong . 1 thing is for sure , looking forward to the day Sony can do something logical like putting the " Sony " logo on the unit and not on the anti shatter SP . Or I presume it's gonna cost a bomb to change the default SP at Sony outlets |

QUOTE(thatisazam @ Sep 6 2013, 10:41 AM) i am not (yet) obsess with 4K recording, really. I'm merely stating that it is possible to do so on XZU with the right customization. so chillax cowboy, i'd get a proper camera if i am obsessed on camera features. for me phone camera is always a on-the-go thing, can't expect a top-notch image from such small image sensor no matter how good the camera app is Based on what fact ? Both running S800 proc ? Or r u a developer with knowledge to know about it ? If u want a proper camera phone , XZU is not your choice . Z1 is your choice . |

QUOTE(thatisazam @ Sep 6 2013, 11:05 AM) S800 clearly states that it supports 4K video capture . therefore it just the matter of tweaking with the software. and hold your horses with your assumption that I wanted a camera phone. Read carefully and don't put weird accusation. Like I state before cowboy-wanna-be , how do u know its only software related , not hardware ? Sure , S800 supports but how about camera's hardware or any other factors ? Just because S800 supports 4k video and Samsung did it on Note3 doesn't mean other models can do the same , running on the same processor . . It's like saying " my dad is a man so any men outside is my dad " . That is what I'm trying to sayThis post has been edited by Noobi3: Sep 6 2013, 12:04 PM |

QUOTE(thatisazam @ Sep 6 2013, 12:12 PM) did Samsung mentions the use of special chip to process the 4K capturing? Note 3 could've taken 21MP photo too coz S800 supports it but it can't because it is using 13MP camera sensors and that's a hardware constraint. here's the trophy. I rest my case. Nope , Samsung didnt mention it but when i refer to your link , Qualcomm also didnt put a statement " Hey guys , tweak your firmware for 4k recording since S800 support it . No additional hardware needed " . So , I asked u again , how do u conclude 4k recording can be achieve " with the right firmware tweaks " since it " just matter of the availability of codecs (which is possible to be add in, the hard way of course) " ? . That also u fail the answer me yet turn round and round like a cowboy throwing his loop . I rest my case . I rest my case . |
