Oh you don't have to treat the name literally, no one actually cares about the rhetorical names, but Bandai has claimed that their PG is the closest to 'perfection' - of what they can offer right now. This is all about my point exactly. I believe there are many more new ideas that Bandai could incorporate into their next PG. Limiting yourself to what is currently available and invoking 'PG is useless now, MG has all it offers' notion is like being complacent. All that MG has now are inherited from years of PG technology R&D, and since Bandai is unlikely to terminate PG, I believe PG will continue to serve its role now

On another note, don't worry about the production issue, I know very well of how it works. I think we all got a bit far fetched into my idea of incorporating die case as skeleton. But, who knows they would find an alternative for the similar idea?

Currently at office, my replies may be limited

well Bandai claimed its closes to perfection, but how much of that statement is pure marketing gimmick? Yes its true alot of new features in MG/RG/HG line today r derived from PG, but if PG were to be intended as a pinnacle, as a testbed for new features as u implied, then we should be getting new PG every year and with each brings something unique to the table for other lines to emulate on; or at the very least 1 thing new that no other line has. This is true in the 90s, but ever since then technology incorporated into PG has been stagnant, literally no new stuff is being done onto it while at the same time its unique features r trickled down onto other grades over the years. Ur argument for it being the pinnacle will holds true if constant development, constant features, constant release is done, however this isnt the case.
in fact new features r being done onto other lines instead, MG is the 1st to have lightweight flexible paint friendly inner frame debuted on Nu ver ka, extremely detailed parts with crazy amount of parts and color separation debuted on RG line, fully assembled innerframe debuted in MG (rx78 ver 1.5 has it 1st although its only the leg portion). If PG as pinnacle should holds true then it should have something new to shout about by now, but what we r getting from that line? Recolored blue frame that r exclusive.... Not only that, over the years PG has been sharing the same frame now, strike, arf and abf so where is the new features that signified it being the creme de la creme?
if bandai themselves couldnt think of something new to market pg on other the the tagline for several years now, its says more about its lack of innovation and ideas for that line..
Again i agree however that the line will be kept, but not because its the pinnacle or perfection but for the sake of nostalgia and novelty.
