UOB sent a card to me without my consent (asking me to upgrade i guess). Never activated it and ignore it. Then my current cc statement came and the GST is charged for the new card without me activating it.. So now i called up card centre to cancel but they said i need to swap 6 times in 2 months time if im not mistaken to get back my rm50 GST.

i never activated it pun kena.. zz

Indeed, you need to swipe at least one transaction per month for consecutively for 3 months before you fly.

Last few weeks was trying PPL in LCCT, they don't allowed me to access, as they claimed that it is only for transaction swipe through card terminal, and not even the entitlements extends to internet purchase. Before Im flying, i already call to UOB 121 to confirm and they said i can go in, but when reached to PPL, then said Im not entitle for it, due to did not fulfil the requirement as per stated (swipe at least one transaction per month for consecutively for 3 months before you fly.) I was like wanna scold them, why previously u guys never been more specific, and said I can use it before im fly, then ended up when I reach airport early, then said I am not entitled for that, blah blah blah....)

Damn freaking annoying...

This is more epic TnC: (copy from the Tnc pdf

3. The total complimentary accesses to the Plaza Premium Lounges given out to the UOB Preferred Platinum Cardmembers is on a first-come first-served basis based on the date and time of the access and is limited to 1,200 per calendar month.
I am thinking, if the bank cannot compete on par with Citibank PM Miles, why event bother to come out with this "benefits" that confuse everyone. So now that if you had fulfilled below TnC pun you may be 1201 of the user who will never qualify for the benefit. Failed la singaporean bank. lol !

First access to Plaza Premium Lounge on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th calendar month as a Cardmember
 Minimum three (3) swipes within sixty (60) calendar days (“Grace Period”) from the UOB Preferred Platinum approval date and prior to the calendar month in which the access to Plaza Premium Lounge is made.
Subsequent (2nd or more) access to Plaza Premium Lounge on the 3rd calendar month as a Cardmember
 Minimum three (3) swipes within sixty (60) calendar days (“Grace Period”) from the UOB Preferred Platinum approval date
 Minimum one (1) swipe every calendar month for the last two (2) calendar months (“Grace Period”) prior to the calendar month in which the access to Plaza Premium Lounge is made.
Subsequent (2nd or more) access to Plaza Premium Lounge on the 4th calendar month onwards as a Cardmember
 Minimum one (1) swipe every calendar month for the last three (3) calendar months (“Grace Period”) prior to the calendar month in which the access to Plaza Premium Lounge is made.

Indeed bro.....Western Bank and insurance company is always more transparent in their policy, unlike Asian, typically Singaporean bank and insurance company will have so many exclusion clause, which they will never bother to inform you earlier.

Since now they are not willing to upgrade my Limit too, i will raise this issue to BNM, worst case scenario just cut the cards, since I am holding Citi PM card as well....

For your info, you need 3 transaction of any amount within 2 months for EACH CARD, to be entitled to the RM50 GST cashback/refund.

Meaning, you pay your RM50 GST 1st, then spend any amount for each card 3 times, then 3rd statement will REFUND you RM50.

Just personal experience, i go Tesco Gelugor (Penang), use my UOB Vox Card to buy a mentos, RM1.50, then swipe my Vox card. Actually, just so happened I was there in the morning and no people, so I purposely go swipe. Haha then subsequently when I go to another Tesco Tanjung Tokong (Penang) (happened to be there too coz went Straits Quay), bought a bottle of 100 plus and swipe again. Haha

if that's the case, actually you are qualified for the auto annual fee waiver. so just call the cs and remind them to waive it for you.

Last time I also have an issue to access to PPL LCCT, although i am sure I am fulfilling the complimentary access condition. The PPL insist I am not entitled for the complimentary entry, even though before I went to LCCT already double confirmed with UOB 121, which they confirmed I am entitled it, but after that I was denied entry, and check with UOB again, they said I am not entitled for it, which I think is ridiculous. They leave me no choice, I was paid 50% out of lounge fees, and when I am back Malaysia, I am straight away raise this case to BNM and ended up they called me to give me an apology, with the lounge fee reversal, plus some PPL vouchers....

Sometime, you need to know how to use your consumer rights, else will get bullied by those big licensed sharks...., especially in Malaysia.

LOL it depends. That 10xRM50 transactions is easy to be met for me (I am single and live alone summore).

Petrol RM300 per month = 6 times
Grocery RM100 per month = 2 times
Touch n go RM50 per month = 1 time
Phone bill + data plan RM100 per month = 2 times
Others such as car maintenence, sing K with friends, traveling, pay for dinner in gathering, buy stuffs online, etc etc still can add up. Shopping with frens/family also can pay first using our card.
If one of the month SO UNLUCKY still cannot reach criteria = buy cash vouchers from giant/tesco/aeon/whatever.

I end up swiping around 13-15 times RM50 transactions each month, without any intentional extra unnecessary spending at all. Is it so difficult until u call it rubbish? hmm.gif
