my one card plat GST due this month and my Visa infinite AF /GST due Dec 2013.

I called to cancel my one card, few days later received a call fr CS offering me CB RM100 for GST for both cards, and also AF waiver for both cards. I asked only for the UOB one card which payment is due now, but they waived for me also the VI payment due in Dec 2013.

With just 1 condition - swipe one time for each card within 30D after that phone call. any amount.

AF for VI is RM1200, if not waived sure will cut. Good only for its 3 years Priority Pass .

OIC, you are refering just to number of swipes, yes, then I agree, just pump petrol every week and eat out on weekend already almost 24 swipes a month. Thought you were referring to value of swipes.

I went to UOB branch to register online banking and set SMS alert. The CS requested to have my IC photocopied for the SMS alert. I declined and she got agitated.

Supposedly you can do it once you have the t-pin delivered to you, but you still need to find UOB's atm

You need to call CS to get it mailed to you.

If you do it at the branch, no T-Pin is required. You will be asked to key in 7 digits (temporary) on the spot.

What normality are you talking about?

CIMB, MBB, RHB, OCBC does not require a photocopy of IC for SMS alert. I am also confident that my request for the SMS alert will be successful without furnishing the photocopy of my IC wink.gif

To open an online banking, they just need my IC to be inserted to the card reader + thumbprint verification. No photocopy too.

CL increase request can be done anytime if your income has increased from the last time they did credit assessment on you. Just submit your latest proof of income and they will assess again how much more CL to give you.

Maybe a bit Difficult to Increase your CL coz You got 2 Late Payments before with Outstanding Balance ... sweat.gif
Unless, You Must Submit Your Latest Income (3 months) with BIG Salaries Increment to Bank

As for Card Replacement, They Will Charge $50 for on NEW Replacement Card if the Card still can Use (the Chip still Function-able)
But, If Card Totally Can Not Read... the Bank will Free of Charge Replace for You....smile.gif

If the accumulated cash rebate given for the month is RM5 or more, the cash rebate will be credited in the current month and reflected in the following month’s Statement of Account. If the accumulated cash rebate given for the month is less than RM5, such amount will be brought forward to the following month for accumulation.

yup, i saw the TnC. Hence from my understanding it should be given to me already. If so I only need to pay my statement amount minus the cash rebate if so.

Can Refer to,
UOB VOX CARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS: http://www1.uob.com.my/assets/pdf/tnc/ccTN...d_Cash_Back.pdf
*
yup, i saw the TnC. Hence from my understanding it should be given to me already. If so I only need to pay my statement amount minus the cash rebate if so.

I've used my VOX card last month and spend it online for some purchase of RM190 through paypal. My statement date was 23rd.

Normally when will the cash rebate being given? end of last month or end of this month instead?
*
the rebate will be given either by end of this month or beginning of next month. rebate is calculated on calendar month basis. now the min spending to get the 5% rebate is RM50 IINM

I achieved the min spending of RM50. I used my card for a transaction of RM190 online at early aug and my statement is 23rd.

From the tnc, it says as long you hit the RM5 min cash rebate, it will shown in your account at end of the month.

Unfortunately, I don't have UOB online account so I can't check whether is it been transacted or not.

In fact I plan to just pay my outstanding amount if my rebate is given to me as I plan to cancel the card already due to so many changes in their TnC

I called UOB CS last month and requested that I still want paper statement to be sent to me (or else I'll forget to pay my bills, haha). She did not mention about any fees and I did get my Statement early this month (my Statement Date is near end of month).

their sales executive offered me for signing one platinum card and preferred platinum card, both under 1 account.

one platinum card for cash rebate, preferred platinum card for points and access to premium lounge.

requirement for one platinum is RM36k, while preferred platinum is only RM48k?

Sounds legit? Anyone kindly advise?

Nowadays, don't you realise that all new cash rebate card also mentioned that they do not offer anymore annual fee waiver???

HL WISE - You need to use min 10 times x RM50 = RM500, still they will charge you RM300.

CIMB cash back - annual fee RM190

StandChart JustOne - You need to spend a min of RM1,000 to enjoy the 15% petrol cash back (Only petrol, others no cash back). Their annual fee is a whooping RM250 leh.

Maybe the quota finish. I remember 1 or 2 years back, I did get the 5X UNIiRinggit and I also remember that it was a promotion where x number of UNIRinggit was allocated for a certain period.

Hmm, Let me call in and check tomorrow. The promo should end by dec 2013. But from their website, they no longer state 5x for sing, thailand and blabla.

Hey, had checked out about purchasing pop corns and drinks over the counter, apparently my side do not have the credit card machine at the food & drinks side, only ticket counter has it.. food & drinks side only has Hong Leong Credit Card machine and its meant for HL card users only... so I guess no smart rebate for food & drinks... sad.gif

Interbank GIRO Funds Transfer

Currently most banks only charge 10 cent per transfer which make it very affordable and the daily transfer limit is capped at RM10k/day for most banks.

yes this is what I pay my UOB bill normally. Go for option transfer, key in your CC number and follow by your name on the cc.

After that, there will be auto verify whether or not the card is belong to you. Then, key in what amount you need to be pay.

There will be GIRO or Instant option to be choose, after transaction has done, you may save it as your favorite, so that easy for you to paid for your monthly bill.

the Difference between UOB One Classic & One Platinum Which were their Cash Rebate:
a. 5% Cash Rebate for petrol [capped at RM500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM300 for UOB ONE Classic card per month.]
d. 2% Cash Rebate for Groceries [capped at RM1,500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM1,000 for UOB ONE Classic card per month.]
e. 2% Cash Rebate for major mobile service providers (Maxis, Digi and Celcom) [capped at RM300 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM200 for UOB ONE Classic card per month.]

the Rest Remain Same... rolleyes.gif

i think i don't trust banks/call centre promises that much anymore..
i remember they told us before that the rebates wont change for life..
see what happened for petrol which was capped at RM600 and suddenly changed to RM500 without any notice..
i think it all depends on the bank management, once they change it, whatever promises is just an empty promise.. =)

may i know:

a. capped rm500 and rm300 is per month or per year?
b. capped rm1500 and rm1000 is per month or per year?
c. capped rm300 and rm200 is per month or per year?

if per months, means UOB one classic could get max rebate of 300+1000+200 = rm1500 per month??? rclxub.gif

or the 'capped at' is refer to the spending, not the rebate rate biggrin.gif

are you using uob one card classic or uob one card platinum? if classic, you just need to swipe 60 times to waive it. smile.gif

60 times still applies for classic... but for platinum, have to spend minimum rm36k or rm60k per year. this is what make people worried because we earn rm36k or rm60k per year to apply this card. so, it means we have to spend everything we earn using this card, in order to waive the annual fee. vmad.gif mad.gif

I lied saying that I discarded the card. Old card is yellowish due to excessive usage. New card FOC + RM50 rebate.

it is not like you can always see their road shows around. the moment you made up your mind, the terms may have changed just like OCBC.

most of the time, i see cc agents giving away plasticware. you may try your luck

UOB One Card seems to have some revised in Petrol Rebate...

It was previously up to RM400 (Gold) and RM600 for (Platinum)..

It seems not these are capped at RM500.. I was shocked to see my cash back for petrol stopped at RM25 and counter checked with the website told me indeed this had changed.

yes, uob platinum has indeed revised down the petrol cash back from rm30 to rm25. i detected it early because i always receive the rebate of rm30 every month. when i did not receive the rebate of rm30 in aug/sep, i went to their website to check on the terms & condition (whether it changed) but it's still written rm30 max rebate for petrol and 0.3% for others.

i quickly called to uob cs demanding for an explanation about this whether there is any glitches. i was told by them that they have revised it in august. i was not happy with their explanation because they said they have informed us through our statement printing. then i query them because their terms and condition still remain the same. they said they will update it soon and they even further said that they might further reduced the max rebate from rm25 to rm20 (for platinum).

at the same time i also complained about their 0.3% rebate for every other things. because i did not receive the correct rebate. they told me that they have abolished the rebate for certain purchase like touchngo reload, fast food chain (kfc, pizza hut, etc), and some others. they gave the same reason that they already informed us through statement printing but not yet update in the terms and condition.

then in september, they informed me that they will maintain the petrol max cash rebate at rm25 and no more intended to reduce it to rm20. as for the 0.3% rebate for others, it has also returned back to normal with no more special condition as mentioned earlier. however, they said whatever i have spent on all these items in the previous month will still maintain at 0% rebate. i really dislike the way uob simply change their terms and condition without informing us in advance. mad.gif vmad.gif

ocbc does not accept new application for OCBC Titanium Card at the moment, not sure bout later. therefore the option for petrol rebates credit card is limited now.

anyway, i thought PBB still has the ESSO MOBIL Credit Card which offers petrol rebate as well

There's no auto waiver for Citibank (at least for this card). You have to call in to request for waiver.

I'm using UOB One Platinum. Find out their service abit lousy. I had swipe 6 times within 2 months, but until now after 6 months still not yet get the RM50 cash back even already call them twice to take note this.

Once I sign up the online banking for my CC, it automatically cancel my hardcopy monthly statement. During i talk to their customer service through phone, they not even inform me about this at all.

Furthermore, first time swipe only get the sms report. Following times no more sms report.

Does anyone face the same issue like me?

so far they are still able to.solve my problems on the phone. they will always request you to write in if you want to change something.

for the RM50, call them everyday until you get it or just cc an email to Bank Negara

For the RM50 cash back, I already give them ultimatum, if i dont get it at the end of the period as per the T&C, I will write to BNM. Already 2 Sc agents following up and their level of service is on par with SCB and citibank doh.gif And I get annoyed when they asked for IC no to verify when they are the one making the phone call.

I got my card few months back (I think August iirc), fulfilled the GST RM50 rebate requirement (by using 6 transactions within 3 months iirc) and now still haven't got the rebate. Already ask CS twice and they say I should get it next month....

And I don't think there's any way to get GST RM50 rebate for second year, unless you call them or want to cancel the card or something

yes, the requirement to waive the annual fees is both to have total transactions of rm36k and to swipe once a month.
anyway, you may try to call the cs to waive it if you were unable to attain to rm36k (most of us will not be able too). laugh.gif

you need to decide quick whether to cut or to activate.
otherwise you will have to pay the gst rm50.
next time be careful not to simply sign up a cc just for free gifts. tongue.gif

annual fees can be waived but gst will be depending on different banks.
you may or may not get charged with the rm50 gst even though you have not activated it.
as per my post above, some says public bank doesn't charge but hong leong did.
not so sure about other banks, you may try to contact the cs to ask.
no harm doing it, all the best to you... smile.gif

Just called to CS and classify regarding the above promotion.

you can request from Honda that to be transfer to 0% installment for 6 months when you have make transaction at any Honda dealer.

No need call in to bank and request for it, it can be done at Honda dealer itself.

quickest way is through agent.
i remembered some years ago, 2 weeks after i applied this uob one card through their website (but no news), i met uob agents in a shopping mall and signed up there.
few days later after i get my card within a week, i received a call from uob saying that they saw my application from the website.
i told them i already received the card. shakehead.gif doh.gif

Thanks for the link and I roughly gone through of it. It mentioned that coverage is free for the first 60 days upon approval, so after 60 days then it will charge me?For the charge on the outstanding balance monthly I think I understand of it. As long as I dont have outstanding balance, then they wont charge on me. I just want to find out will it be any extra or hidden charges if apply this features. Thanks smile.gif

Just called to CS and classify regarding the above promotion.

you can request from Honda that to be transfer to 0% installment for 6 months when you have make transaction at any Honda dealer.

No need call in to bank and request for it, it can be done at Honda dealer itself.
*
i went to Honda over the weekend, swipe first then call in to bank to convert at 0%

Huh? How come CS told me no need call in or what, what you can do it just told Honda that you need to convert to 0% installment, maybe different dealer different process. By the way, which dealer you went?

depending on the cs you are dealing with, but by right, card replacement will be given (if you are an active user of their card).
have you at least paid the minimum payment of that 2 months?

I just received a call from UOB telemarketer, saying that my UOB one card application has been approved, and they will send me the card in 2 weeks time.

But, I will be travelling to overseas on 5 December. I don't mind to receive the card after back from travel. But, I am worried that they send the card to my home during my travel. Nobody will be at home. So, any comments?

GST they may not waive for you but annual fees is very waive. once you say you want to cancel, they will offer you 5 years waiver without condition.

disclaimer
the above happened a year ago. i even applied a second UOB card also got the RM50 welcome cash back then i cancelled my UOB One Card, they offered me RM50 GST waiver asking me to keep the card, i rejected it too since i don't use it

The AF is a major drawback and this might prompt users to give this card a miss. If the AF can be waived easily, they should just remove it. Sometimes I wonder why these banks wanna make their lives difficult. Seriously, how many will actually spend 36k on this card?

In order to get 2% rebate for mobile phone bills, payment over the counter or at telco site is eligible? Or it must be done at UOB Internet banking?

How you understand the scheme works? It is not as direct as OCBC Ti but certain categories have spending cap limit in order to limit the cash rebate.

The amount paid to principal card did not transfer to supp card account.
Have to call up then they waive all the late payment penalty charges.

Else everyone would have make minimum payment every month.
U just follow that bill statement will do. Next month u will be paying less anyway.

What is the date of the brochure? Always refer to UOB online page for latest T&C.

T&C dated 1st August 2013: http://www1.uob.com.my/assets/pdf/tnc/ccTNC/OneCard_tnc.pdf

QUOTE
5% Cash Rebate on all spending on petrol;

Note: For the rebate category of petrol, the maximum Cash Rebate awarded for purchases made by the principal and supplementary Cardmembers shall be capped at RM500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM300 for UOB ONE Classic card per month.

the only advantage of having a supplementary card is if you have a family member who doesn't have a cc and you always can't reach your petrol max rebate per month (by your own). so you give that person your supplementary card to use for petrol and whatever they use, they will pay you back in cash. so you earn 5% from them and you don't waste your monthly rebate quota. biggrin.gif

Given the recent petrol price hike and anticipating more hikes next year, it's not very hard to reach the cap for petrol category - RM 500 / RM 300

during your application, you should have strongly emphasized to them or warned them that you will cancel your card if they give you another card type other than classic card.

if you try to call the cs now to request about this, i am sure that they will ask you to retain this card saying that you may call to waive the annual fee later on when the time comes (when it's charged).

yes, but it also depends on the cs you deal with (some cs is terrible) and/or your total usage of the card (how much your card contribution to the bank).

Guys, i am just asking..

My card just got charged GST RM50 this month as it has been a year already..

I believe my annual fee has been waived because I have swiped more than 60 times already since last year when i received this card..

Anyway, i am wondering, the Government Service Tax (GST) is not waived, right?

Just to double confirm..

Thank you for the input.

credit card online payment for this card is 0.3% only right?
i checked at their website dont state about online payment, guess it falls under all other purchases...

if 0.3%, still use back OCBC Titanium for online payment...

Coming here after OCBC Titanium revised the 5% rebate to 1% (I just get the card for a month...)
I should apply for UOB one instead of OCBC...

Request to cancell one card and later receive call from CS with $50 rebate and free 3 yr annual.
So, just continue to keep this card. Good

This is happened to me when I applied for RHB Tesco card. They sent me extra RHB Islamic card that I didn't apply at all.

Immediately on the next day, I called the CS to cancel it. The CS said that even though I didn't activate the card, it is considered that I have accepted the card. I'm not sure what does it mean but for safety purpose to avoid shocking financial charges (GST, annual fee, interest, late payment), I' demanded for card cancellation.

Same case happened to me...

My complaint on RHB went unattended despite following up several times.

When I called in to cancel they said I can't cancel and need to pay this and that. I told them either they cancel or Bank Negara would do the urging for me.

Finally got my 1st year RM50 GST cashback after 5 months of usage, called them twice to chase them over this issue.

Wonder why do UOB drag it so long when other banks like Citibank issue the 1st year cashback just after the 1st month. blink.gif

Anyhow, now waiting for the autodebit rebate to be issued. I think by then I'll grow a beard and it'll turn white by the time it's issued.

you can either get an answer from CS or ask from your SA.

For my case, I was just called and asked from CS, and CS will inform you whether is approve or not, and my SA didn't bother me anymore after signed up from him.

Annual fee will be waived perpetually with minimum cumulative 60 transactions per annum for
UOB ONE Classic Card/ 12 transaction per annum and cumulative RM36,000 spend per year for

If should be:

UOB is having roadshow in Tesco Puchong. According to the staff, there will not be annual fees for UOB ONE Classic or Platinum applied there.

Government fees can also be waived if we call the Customer Care Center.

They give you Powerbank.
Please take note the UOB Platinum free Annual fee only for 2 years, after 2 years it is RM168 yearly. Only waived when do 12 swipes + spend 36000 per year.
This as for meself impossible to achieve.

The classic at RM68 fee per year more realistic.

Q1: Yes. Under Interbank Fund Transfer for 10 cents per transfer (normal IFT).

Q2: Yes. If you e-statement, you need to request for PIN for Internet banking setup. Your mailer should have a section for PIN generation.

They had a booth at QB the last weekend I went there and a SA chased up to my and asked me to sign up for their One Card, saying that's there's a free power bank. I have some questions before I go on to sign up, what should I confirm with the SA when I apply?

1) Free power bank
2) RM50 cashback (is this GST?)
3) Waive annual fees (1 yr/2yrs?)
4) Say if GST is arriving the 12th month and I cancel the card, will I be charged the GST? Can I reapply after that?

Why do we get GST cash back 3 months from approval? We will be charged GST the moment we sign up for credit card? I thought you'll only be charged after one year? Then why do we get the cashback just 3 months after getting the card?

Also, it was according to this post that the GST can be waived...

Annual Fee Can be Waive NOT GST (Government Service Tax)
GST is charged once the card is approved and not necessarily activated or not. According to custom department, only those renewed card but cancelled within 3 months and not use the new card is eligible not to pay GST.
GST CAN NOT be Waive... It's the Bank who Collect It from CC Holder on Behalf for Government & the Bank have to Korek Its Own $$$ to Pay GST for a NEW SIGNUP like U on the 1st Year... nod.gif

After reading this, personally feel OCBC more sincere to keep long term customer, as with 12/24 swipe per year, no annual fee. Cumulative RM10k spent on card, RM50 government tax will refund. Should UOB follow this if they looking for long term royal customer...mmm...

----------

Annual fee will be waived perpetually with minimum cumulative 60 transactions per year
for UOB ONE Classic Card/ 12 transactions and cumulative RM36,000 spend per year for UOB ONE Platinum Card

Thank you, never know they revised the TnC.
Anyway, I'm okay to pay RM50 government tax, since they still spell out clearly the criteria for annual fee, Free for life.
UOB's criteria for free annual fee look like only mean for big big spender.

Will I still be charged service tax if my card is free-for-life?
Yes, the service tax is still chargeable.

If I cancel my credit card before the card anniversary date, would I be charged the service tax?
The service tax will not be imposed on card cancelled before the card's anniversary date.
However, it is encouraged that you cancel the card at least 2 weeks before the card's anniversary date to ensure that the service tax will not be billed to your card account.

Can the service tax be waived?
Just like any other service tax imposed by and payable to the Malaysian Government, we are unable to waive this amount.

60x swipe is reasonable to meet.
For ONE platinum, it need cumulative 36k spend per year.. sound not reasonable, just to waive AnnualFee.

12 transactions and cumulative RM36,000 spend per year for UOB ONE Platinum Card

Probably due to the GST havent charge yet?
Last year i also called in to cancel before the GST and they offer me waiver for 6x swipe.

But this year i forgotten and only found it when its already charged, plus late payment and interest for that GST (i already cleared the card for backup only).

I will try to call again and instead asking them to waive i would just say i want to cancel, and when asked why i will just say due to the GST dont waive.

I dun like to beg ppl, and I always forget the anniversary card due date...so mostly I will only notice it when I see the statement...and the annual fee is charge...somemore I cant spend 36k per year...if classical internet transaction count for the 60x swipes?

Hmm...then I might keep my amex+ocbc titanium till other good card come out

After do some servay here, no point applying for UOB one plat due to reason above. So i apply classic one only.

After i submit my application online, UOB cS call me ask to try the plat one but i refuse due to AF. But she said can waive if minimun spend 1k monthly only.

Can trust or not?

i have mentioned numerous times here, don't believe the t&c that mentioned you need to spend 36k pa to waive the annual fees. the moment you say you want to cancel the card, they will waive 5 years annual fees for you.

been there, done that!

Imagine that they are willing to offer RM50 to offset GST to retain you as a credit card customer, do you think they will be stingy of the annual fees which is only an internal generated cost?

a year ago, i held UOB One Classic then i applied UOB Vox card (got RM50 welcome bonus as well) due to i don't pump petrol. After i got the Vox Card then i terminated the One Card. They actually called me to offer RM50 so that i will retain that One Classic, my One Classic still had 1/2 year to anniversary month. I rejected the offer because i don't need so many cards, therefore now i only have the UOB Vox Card.

1 year before i terminated the UOB One Card, they had offered me RM50 to offset GST and 5 years annual fee waiver as retention offer. To be honest, i think i did not spend more than RM5k in a year.

Therefore the conclusion is the moment you say you want to terminate your card, they will offer you something. if they don't, wait for the card cancellation department to call you, they are very likely to offer you something.

Please, if really want to cancel, the CS can do that. No need to wait for retention department to call you with to verify and perhaps a retention offer.

Most of the time, the bank need to put in the annual fee thing as requirement from BNM, especially foreign bank, they won't get good term like local bank. If you survey, most local bank offer Free For Life credit card in their credit card product list.

I not sure how could OCBC be the first foreign bank that allow to offer Free For Life in their TnC. Anyway, it depend on BNM and the bank, and remember this is BolehLand.

I thought the annual fee goes to Visa or Mastercard pocket since it likes a membership fee.

Bro, when did the above BNM guideline came into effect?

UOB has been offering FREE FOR LIFE for more than two decades with minimum X swipes, e.g. my UOB Plat used to need 12 swipes to get annual fee waived. However nowadays UOB keep changing their auto annual fee waiver policy, and at one stage we got to like swipe 60 times! Click here to read my article UOB - Why You Force Me To Beg You?

And for years too I only needed to swipe 12 times to get my HSBC Platinum credit card (they upgraded it to Visa Signature), but that policy is no longer stated in HSBC T&C. However, this year, initially I was told it is still applicable but they then charged me the annual fee, click here to read about it at my Facebook post in June..

And for years and up to date, if one has Citibank Gold Status, UOB Privilege Banking Status, HSBC Premier Banking Status and OCBC Premier Banking Status, they do get FREE FOR LIFE credit cards without needing to swipe even once.

I am not too surprised that UOB are asking third party to call customers for cancellation of credit card. That happens to Standchart too. Btw we as customers got nothing to lose. I can always apply for any other cc at any time if UOB got no interest to keep us as customer. Cheers!

I'm using UOB Plat One Card. I just came to know there that there is a cap on the Smart Rebates at RM8 per month for petrol (ie RM400 worth of petrol). I'm still not sure about the cap on 5% cash rebate. Have been using a lot of petrol during this year end school holidays and had blown my cash rebate quota for Amex2 card on shopping and everything.

I hold 2 cards that both lately got their rebates / annual fees auto waive system altered. sad.gif

For UOB one card platinum , the minimum income to get the card is RM36k , yet one need to spend RM36k annually to get the AF waived automatically.... With most people holding more than a card , 36k on a single card solely is not easy.

So from now on , every year have to call and beg.. =.=

I just signed up for UOB One card yesterday. Hope to receive it soon. Any idea how long is the processing?

I really hope they keep the good benefits for long. I hate it when it changes after I use it for few months.

Agree with you, call and beg is something I hate to do. Since I use the card for number of transaction, do expect they auto wave AF, instead of need to "threaten" for cancel..
