Thank god I am able to convince myself not to get the one card. Banks should be more transparent when the quota is reached.

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Mar 4 2014, 02:43 PM) hi all Go ahead with your plan. Remember to request for confirmation letter.some of you might remember my previous post where i want to cancel the UOB VOX card. i had called the bank to cancel it almost 4 weeks ago. till now no one contact me back and each time i call to UOB CC center, i got different response on the card status (pending for cancellation, already cancelled) this simple issues has been dragging for too long. any idea what is my next step? im planning to complain to BNM if UOB still did not get back to me by this week |

QUOTE(whitesabre @ Apr 8 2014, 05:30 PM) Nono. Both cards are charged GST. Confirmed by my aunt. She called up the cs and they say they waive on one card. The Amex card is charged GST. The statement shows RM50. Meaning 2 cards, 2 GST, however only one is waive. Another card is charged. Technically you are right, GST is charged for each card. However, GST for one card is waived not because she called; it is waived for everyone. This post has been edited by Human Nature: Apr 8 2014, 05:46 PM |

QUOTE(whitesabre @ Apr 8 2014, 06:02 PM) Yaya actually she did say that for the 2 Cards, one will deifnitely be waived. However she still call every year just in case they change their T&C. No one knows, better to call. But then, they will never waive the other card's GST. Meaning force you to take both cards, and charge GST for one of them. I understand the GST is remitted to the government, but why can't they absorb it. She spend quite alot every year. Maybank Treat points now having 3 years lifetime. The Maybank 2 Amex is the only card that I don't sulk when paying (points redemption) as the points get accumulate fast Anyhow, out of the 3 cashback cards, i) I'd go for UOB One card now coz my salary level is too low for Citibank Cashback and Maybank 2 Cards. ii) Maybank 2 Cards great only for weekend spendings. Go out eat also 5%. Best part still can collect points and many Maybank partner merchants around. But if weekdays, this card is kinda lousy. For those salary above RM30,000, should give this card a try since it's good for the weekends. I heard the treatpoints has no expiry date. Anyone can confirm? iii) Citibank Cashback card good for those salary level above annual RM40,000. Also good for weekday spendings. Sometimes, we cannot avoid weekday spendings. But then, it is exactly like UOB One card except for the petrol and certain add-ons. UOB One card is a suitable card to start with but do check with your spending level / pattern. |

Weird. I received another SMS today stating that they received my cancellation request and want me to send SMS for gift of some sort.
I did not make such request. My old card has been terminated early this year. |

I am kind pissed with UOB. Previously I received RM50 + RM50, one is for GST offset and another I thought is a retaining offer. Today I found that they reversed the RM50.
