QUOTE(ikengkai @ Dec 19 2013, 10:18 PM) After reading this, personally feel OCBC more sincere to keep long term customer, as with 12/24 swipe per year, no annual fee. Cumulative RM10k spent on card, RM50 government tax will refund. Should UOB follow this if they looking for long term royal customer...mmm... ---------- Annual fee will be waived perpetually with minimum cumulative 60 transactions per year for UOB ONE Classic Card/ 12 transactions and cumulative RM36,000 spend per year for UOB ONE Platinum Card Do check out the new terms for OCBC, no more 10k annual bonus

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 11 2014, 12:41 AM) Very vague... if it's based on MCC code.... then those AEON/Parkson/Isetan/Robinsons/Tangs could be included. Maybe the previous CS is "making" assumption Yeah, very vague. 1000 card holder (max RM50) is not much and it is based on when the system capture the transaction.

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jan 17 2014, 01:27 PM) Did anyone get the 10% cash back for groceries until end of this month promo SMS? Need to spend at least RM 250 in a single receipt. I'm wondering which grocery stores are eligible, and what's the cap of the cash back. Can't find any terms on the website. HI, the T&C was posted last page or so. Do check it out.

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 23 2014, 02:47 PM) LOL, another bnm report suggestion from you. Banks will have no problems to take action or impose penalty or charge fee. As customers, we need to exercise our rights too especially when it breaches the T&C

I received a call from a person identifying himself as a staff from UOB. He spoke in Mandarin so I requested for him to speak in English instead. Upon this, the caller immediately cut off the line. So rude. I already make a complaint direct to the bank and put a note to remove my name from their marketing database.

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 24 2014, 11:38 AM) maybe he is embarrassed of his inability to speak in english? anyway he should have apologised first before hanging up (if that were really the case). should have asked for his name and report him to the bank for being rude. I don't mind at all if he just said he is unable to speak in English (even in Mandarin). Other callers did not cut off the line immediately. I have the phone number so I have included it in my report.

Upon this, the caller immediately cut off the line. So rude. I already make a complaint direct to the bank and put a note to remove my name from their marketing database. Received a follow up call. My request to remove my name from the database will be processed. The call this morning was actually to offer me the UOB VI card. I accepted the offer. QUOTE(CP88 @ Jan 24 2014, 09:19 PM) I bet his superior is apologizing on behalf on his subordinate. Well yes. The superior is more articulate and cordial. I actually don't mind getting call from telemarketers here and then, except when: (1) Receive calls on the same offer for 2 or 3 days in a row (aka Citibank) (2) Receive calls from banks that I do not have any accounts/relation with (aka Alliance Bank and Hong Leong Bank)

QUOTE(CP88 @ Jan 24 2014, 09:48 PM) Wow same offer 2-3 days a row. The marketing folks are really aggressive! Yeah, I think some of them at the Citibank thread reported this too. So when I still receive the calls after I terminated my card, I ensure that my name is completely removed from their database.

I just received the card retention SMS. If i do not want to accept the offer, I can just ignore it right?
Will there be any notification about the cancellation? The card is no longer shown at the online portal.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 13 2014, 07:46 PM) Approached by UOB people in Sooka Sentral on my way back home. Signed up for UOB One Platinum and UOB Preferred Platinum. According to them, I just need to swipe 3 times in 60 days to enjoy 3 years free GST and annual fees. If this is not honoured, I will cancel my cards straightaway. Not that I'm really keen but my OCBC Ti doesn't have much benefits these days, so thinking to sign up one. Preferred is because I travel quite often and it comes handy for the PPL. Anyway, not sure will be approved or not. Let's see. Do check the T&C for the Preferred Plat. Need to fulfill swipe condition and it comes with quota too.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 16 2014, 12:27 PM) Bloody UOB DID NOT CANCEL my card and charge me RM50 GST. Please call in to triple-check if you made any cancellation CONFIRMED and EXPEDITED. I've even seen my CC account number removed from Online Banking a week after my first request in 06-Jan-2014. This how sneaky UOB is.... I would just complain to BNM.
