all the while smart$ for bhp has a limit of rm400 per cc account.

you may check this pdf posted at uob website since 2012 https://www1.uob.com.my/webpages/SmartCash/pdf/petrol.pdf
*
You're partially wrong. Not all the while. This happened early April only. I had the print out for this Smart$Cash page from the March version. That time no limit. It's only after they notice people pump like mad, then they put a RM400 cap on it.

Guys, I got a question regarding BHP points exchange. They recently have that bag offer. Shoe bag I think. Is it worth to trade in my 599 points or 399 points + RM6 for the shoe bag. Any ideas?

no, the smart$ really has the rm400 limit on it all the while since 2012.
only in the recent past few months when the promo of 5% smart$ was on-going, this limit was was temporarily not applicable. after the promo ended and the smart$ went back to 2%, the limit is back again.
*
I called before last time regarding the Smart before the 5% smart promo. They said no limit. Then when 5%, i called end of march, they say 400 per person and will update that list u showed. I will scan for u to see. That time really no limit.

So the info I had, totally opposite of yours.

i not sure the offer is until when.
actually i thought already ended until you brought this up again.
because i felt like i redeemed it very long ago already.  laugh.gif
it's good for 599 points because 550 points equals rm5 bhp petrol.
so that show bag only cost around rm5.45 if you redeem with 599 points.
big enough for a pair of shoe or 2 bottles of 100plus 1.5 litre. the quality not bad.

here's the photo...
[attachmentid=4019693]

last time i redeemed the pillow blanket too.  thumbup.gif
that one after first week release, already no stock although the offer was up to a month.
then after few months they re-offered the pillow blanket again because of the overwhelmed response during the first release.

Wow ok thanks. I will try to see and wait for new deals if finish. Haha i tot can 2 pairs though. But quite nice. Can put my sport shoes. Good good. Thanks

Nope, not VOX. You faced the same thing bfore?
*
Oh mine actually different. Sorry. Different description. Haha it was bank's error. I never bother to ask. Past 2 months already.

Acquisition cash back, according to many users in this forum topic, refers to GST cash back. Mine was GST cash back. Then subsequently, someone asked abt acquisition cash back.

Anyway the clause said deemed correct so they should not be charging you again. Call Bank Negara. The clause is binding on both sides.

I believe the new GST will be charged on the monthly balance. Most probably la. I just predict only because the new GST is 6%. So it has to be 6% of something. Just a wild guess.

when you purchase goods or services, you have already paid gst. How are they going to charge you gst on your outstanding balance?

interest is most likely won't have gst, not sure bout other fees such as late payment fees
*
That's different. The mechanism of GST applies on Goods and Services. Using the credit card is part of a service provided by the bank. The bank charges service revenue, not goods revenue. Swiping the card number of times is a service.

My only guess is two. One, charge 6% on top of final balance. Or two, charge 6% on top of the number of use, meaning for eg, one swipe is Rm5 or so. Not sure la. Just hope something good instead of the shit RM50

In general, banks and financial institutions provide financial services and are exempted from GST; however fee-based services will be subjected to GST.

Credit, Debit or Charge Card

In a typical card operation there are three parties involved as shown in Diagram 1 below:

user posted image

The 1st arrangement involves the bank and the customer in which the bank charges an annual subscription fee for usage of the card and an interest for the granted credit. The annual subscription fee is subject to GST while the interest charged is not subject to GST.

The 2nd relationship is between the retail outlet and the customer. The retail outlet sells goods to the customer for which he will charge GST on the sale of the goods in the normal manner.

The 3rd relationship is between the bank and the retail outlet. Bank pays the retail outlet for the goods purchased by the customer after deducting the merchant discount commission. If the retail outlet is a merchant for the bank, the bank will charge rental for the usage of payments terminals and is subject to GST
at standard rate. Merchant discount commission is subject to GST at a standard rate.

Wow that's good news. Put it in simpler terms, it means the GST is based on the annual fee. So if we can get annual fee waiver, it means no GST as well. Not bad not bad.

The merchant will charge us the GST and pay it to the bank. Then the bank will remit to our "cheng hu". This means we will not be charged this GST as long as our annual fee is waived. Good good

yup... i say i would cancel coz it quite stupid that other banks can waive but UOB cant... he just kept saying "sorry this year no waiver"... ask the reason he also dunno...

but not sure when to cancel best... coz kinda waste my 50 bucks for govt tax and need to pay the 168 to clear balance... the 168 is charged for previous year or coming 12 months? if coming then maybe i cancel by dec since 50 bucks gov tax is for 1 year...
*
The annual fee is for coming year. Meaning you pay and get to use the card for a year.

Everyone's yearly cycle is different ya. Like mine start March, end February. Always call up 2 statements before so that you can cancel in time in case they don't waive it. Don't wanna get hit with GST and Annual Fee.

Ah well, as long as we cancel we no longer have to pay for the annual fee is it? But GST still will kena?

If you call 2 statements before, you can escape it early

Just gotten the UOB Cards. Usually in which month, the GST RM50 will be waived? 2nd, 3rd month?

What is the benefit of Ladies Cards?

Feel like just wanna cancel it.

It was the credit card agent that keep pushing me to sign for UOB One Card and Ladies Card. And ask me to retain them so that he can get commission.
*
For your info, you need 3 transaction of any amount within 2 months for EACH CARD, to be entitled to the RM50 GST cashback/refund.

Meaning, you pay your RM50 GST 1st, then spend any amount for each card 3 times, then 3rd statement will REFUND you RM50.

Just personal experience, i go Tesco Gelugor (Penang), use my UOB Vox Card to buy a mentos, RM1.50, then swipe my Vox card. Actually, just so happened I was there in the morning and no people, so I purposely go swipe. Haha then subsequently when I go to another Tesco Tanjung Tokong (Penang) (happened to be there too coz went Straits Quay), bought a bottle of 100 plus and swipe again. Haha

LOL who keeps credit cards? As we move on year by year, better cards with better perks will come out. As such, I only keep use of my credit cards for 11 months only. Next year I will cancel my UOB One card, unless they give me GST and Annual fee waiver. But then again, if I can apply Citibank CashBack Plat, I will ignore this card altogether. I may keep the UOB Vox card though. 5% online is good if I purchase above RM50 per transaction from Groupon/Livingsocial.

Hi all, this is my first credit card so I'm a bit clueless. Regarding the 3 swipes to cancel the RM50 gst, is it only applicable to 'physical' swipes? Or does online shopping count as one of the 3 swipes?

Thanks!
*
Read the T&C. The last time I called (when I was new), they say only physical swipes. Online transactions not entitled. But then again, just go swipe mentos, 100 plus can...blablabla. Not difficult.
