QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 11 2013, 02:28 PM) but my understanding is 3G latency is typically 50-100ms right? The latency I got was 26msbut well, to be absolutely sure, tonight I go home config my modem again to see, cos as I know, there is one fast tower in my area and I remembered the CellID, and I would restart several times to make my modem connect there instead, lol, but so far attempts failed will test out tonight and report here again |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 11 2013, 02:36 PM) Then try playing with 2600Mhz and 1800Mhz LTE, they are different congestion wait.... come to think of it, I think the latency stays around 50ms now, so maybe it's 3G also Force modem to LTE only for the best BTW, 3G can go to 26ms although my best is 28ms I can confirm 1800Mhz at my area have download ~8-10mbps and upload is very stable at 8-10mbps also, while 2600Mhz have up to 24mbps( outdoor test, highest i've seen) download and ~8mbps upload also, realistically, I've trying to get 15mbps upload, and ~5mbps upload stable and that should be fine. I've seen those speed before in my room, so I'm just testing with the right setup to get my constantly with that speed |

I think the only complain I have is the stability of my area, not sure to much towers nearby or what, always struggle especially on YouTube or dota, halfway disconnect and very bad gaming experience when my connection pms, applying back unifi now but keeping this as my mobile data plan =D

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Nov 9 2013, 12:34 AM) i guess most user never learn, then when maxis officially capped to standard speed, then all come out complain here and there,.. that's how history always happen to all the unlimited plan of all wireless ISP before,.. how is 7mbps even low, when most of us are using 5mbps at home, those that feel 7mbps are unreasonably slow should sign up Time 100mbps plan, or unifi 20mbps, LTE 20mbps is not all the time and not exactly stable compared to other fixed line anyways bersyukurlah with whatever speed you got,. anything above 1~2Mbps still consider slow ? guess some of you never stay in the places which only have streamyx 1Mbps,. and no fiber yet blind spot for most ISP TBH I getting 10-15mbps, and I didnt even notice any slow down until i manually go and speed test, and I'm sharing with my family samo, so those using alone one, why even make a fuss? |

in regards of what happened recently, we can only thank those that did not keep a low profile before this, this include those that openly asked about this plan and complained about this plan in maxis forum, and discussed about "will i get capped after 30GB". First thread already mention to keep a low profile and dont talk about quota here, new comers just keep on talking about it, and now we all sink together in a boat.

QUOTE(CK_spec @ Nov 28 2013, 02:34 PM) lol, please edit your quote to hide the keywords as wellQUOTE(Zhao @ Nov 28 2013, 02:38 PM) yes, they would know, but some other end user wont know, so at least if they are trying to spread to others, there's no specific names, and it's very hard to spread about this plan, so staying low profile is easier that way.. biz68 is having all kinds of tahi because it's too well known and the name is basically everywhere |

QUOTE(icemessenger @ Nov 28 2013, 03:47 PM) asking these question? What I meant was because of all the attention we got, more and more users would not know the nature of this plan and constantly staying high profile talking about sensitive stuffs, and in the end, here's what it brought us.what question did i asked that will cause the "exposure" anyway someone here mentioned that we can use the livechat to check the issue regarding the contract, even to cancel the line. yet just now i was asked to contact a corporate line. maybe that's the new procedure? anyway all those aside, you can simply ask them if there are any penalty if you were to terminate now, and they should be able to check that, if cant, then just ask them to escalate this to a higher access right support personal so that they can have it checked. btw, like some others said, did u take any device along your plan? if your answer is yes, then you are bounded with contract, otherwise, very likely you are not under any contract. |

QUOTE(flyf @ Nov 28 2013, 06:41 PM) The seller is to be blamed, but when you sign up the plan, you should also very well know what you are jumping into, not just 'wa this plan so good I go sign this'. At modern day, there are so many TnC that are used by sellers/merchant at their benefit, so it has also become consumer's responsibility to understand what they would be facing. I am not blaming everyone that is asking stuff, it's just an example of potentially someone clueless and did not even do research asking some question that should be very obvious to all of us.My main point of saying those, is because there are just too much user openly having discussion about quota, which since last year has already been a known sensitive topics. The senior members here have also warned about it, but before blacktubi closed the thread, there are so much discussion on that, and after reopening the topic, the same group of people are just having the same conversation. needless to say, now, we gotten too much attention and they are enforcing something. I am not blaming everyone here, but I am saying that a small herd killed the whole community QUOTE(roxxzor @ Nov 28 2013, 11:45 PM) Maxis being a large company on the KLSE has the responsibility to treat their customers ethically, internet is a basic need for education and communication. For them to - with one days notice - cut off the internet for thousands of users forcing them to pay excess amounts is disgusting. yes, I agree that we should fight, and preserve our right, they have all the rights to cap us at 3GB, or even 30GB as stated in their internal system, however, it's not ethical to just inform you in less then 24 hours before they implement that, at least inform users about the implementation a month ahead, and give options for us whether to continue or terminate or find some alternative, especially contracted users, since the plan differs so much now. I'm fine with capping to a more acceptable speed( 1mbps or 512kbps,), or dropping our 30GB quota to half, not merely 4GB, which seemed overpriced compared with so many other options out there. but I am thinking, whatever the outcome, I might as well just terminate mine since I have already gotten Unifi as my home broadband. I'll miss my bottomless portable hotspot tho They could of dealt with this in a fair and ethical manner, giving at least some beneficial notice to the consumer but alas they didnt. They screwed us all over knowing that no one can get a fixed line internet in 1 day. Maybe contractually Maxis is correct in what they did but ethically they are a bunch of dicks who took advantage of us all when there was no need to, other than make extra money from desperate people who need internet to go about their every day life. For what they have done to us three times this year we should not give up so easily, keep up the pressure complain, write in, call do what ever you can your effort will make a difference even it it is just a call. |
