I think i can test some water by having a emulation thread to talk about many of the emulator.

Do note that we dont talk about where to download bios/rom/iso of the game.

Wiki( I semi-stole it)
http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/Em...on_General_Wiki

Recent one to have big breaktrought:

PPSSPP (PSP emulator) Lots of game are playable now
dophin (Wii emulator) Added netplay!

Screenshot of the games are welcome too!

Here some screenshot to start:

Thanks to emulation, can still play Sega Genesis and Playstation 1 games despite my consoles all died a long time ago (I seem to have a bad luck with these things).

Currently using Gen32 Surreal for Sega Genesis. Haven't really got it working perfectly yet, bad screen tearing issue if I run the emulator with Windows Aero theme off, but with Aero theme on, it feels laggy or stuttering in some games like Sonic.

What I do like about it is that you can set the window size and so you don't have to drag to resize it like the older Gen32 and have it out of proportion

TS, what's the pc requirement to run PPSSPP (psp emulator)? Does it lag a lot/has incompatible issues or can play smoothly? Able to save? Free? I want to play FF7 Crisis Core smile.gif

1. As stated on official site:

What are the PC CPU and GPU requirements?

Any reasonably modern CPU will be just fine, and any GPU that can handle OpenGL 2.0 should have no issues. You should make sure to install the latest graphics drivers available though. Windows XP or later is required, Windows 7 or 8 is recommended.

That too be said,if your pc are under 5~3 years old and newer then core i5 second gen something then you are good to go!

2. Compare to 0.7/0.8 lots have fixed, thought it is best to check this list:

Usualy PC have better result compare to andriod/iphone.

Cool! Will check it out when I have a newer laptop. Still on C2D here doh.gif But it's great to know there is a functional psp emulator for the pc rclxms.gif The compatibility list seems pretty playable for a lot of psp games too.. hopefully the developer will keep updating the emulator to improve it smile.gif

Personally, I had a computer that is purposely made out of date just to run old DOS games. The PSU exploded from old age and took the mobo out with it :'(

In the process of building a new one, but old parts are now expensive for some weird reason...

I don't really like using DOSBox. It doesn't work well, and the dev refuse to implement AWE64 sound card emulation. (I had an AWE64. I refuse to listen to OPL3 sound anymore since getting it years ago).

For classic console games, IMO nothing can beat the real deal. But when you're out on the road, emulation's the only way to go. Now if only Nintendo will launch the eShop in Malaysia so I can legally buy the games I want to play and have it on my 3DS. I still use my PSP to play PS1 classics bought from SEN store...

Woah! There's an emulator for 3DS too? I had to rent a 3ds console whenever I want to play its exclusive games. Also, what's a good ps emulator now to play FF9? smile.gif

Do you guys remember the game where there's a dog 2D side-scroller for MS-DOS?

BTUN or BTWEEN something... I always forgot the name for some reason.

And that catridge based floppy disk game like can change at least 3 robots.

And another where it's a robot vs robot DOS game.

I'm happy if you can identify the one's I mentioned.

Any idea if Tales of Symphonia will work?

That is like the only game on Gamecube I want to play.

I played a bit with Dolphin 3.5 last time, works fine.
But maybe Dolphin 4.0 can do better with improved DSP-HLE plugin.
