found this site...seems like related to what you sifus are discussing...

ASB is the only fund from ASNB that provides additional bonuses to their investors. That has raised quite a number of speculation with regards to the capability and sustainability of ASB. Is it even possible for any fund to provide returns even in the harshest of economy situation?

After using multiple calculators on ASB it seems that using own money will reap more return than taking an ASB loan.

35,000 for 6 years is RM563 a month

BLR (6.6%) - 1.65% = interest rate of 4.95%

say ASB dividen + bonus is 8% = pure profit = 8 - 4.95 = 3.05%

the end profit is much less than if I start from RM 0 and invest the same amount for 6 years with the full % from ASB.

Or am I totally wrong?

How Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) Calculates Dividend and Bonus
.....knowing how the calculation works helps you to chart your financial goals more accurately.
http://invest-made-easy.blogspot.com/searc...&max-results=50

sifus, could you please review and elaborate this analysis? the i am noob at data and charts....

another rclxub.gif at the end of the article, at the "summary"....."A clear cut example for ASB investors is maximized the Dividend and Bonus for ASB through Lump Sum investing instead of monthly." rclxub.gif

NAV + (service charge * 6%)

hmm.gif
assuming SC is 2%
I used the calculator 2x6% = 0.24
so NAV + 0.24.... hmm.gif shakehead.gif

Nope
NAV + 2.12%

It depends on how u calculate
Lets say NAV = 1k
SC = 6%

1,000 + (60 + 3.60) = 1063.60 or
1,000 + (6.36% of 1000) = 1063.60
*
sorry, noop here,..pls bear with me

so how does NAV + (SC*6%) fits in?
and where does "(6.36% of 1000)" comes in play?
