no way you can get it from the seller that easily mainly becos of the lag time from sell-HQ-buy lag time.

Units are opened into the system. The sales at the seller 's branch must be accepted by HQ, even if the buyer is standing side by side at same branch also no guarantee can get.

I tried that before. He was selling at the next counter, and i was just standing there seeing the counter girl keep trying to key in buy orders. Due to the lag time, 1 got RM1k only whereas that fellow sold 20k!.

Tried AS1M, ASM and ASW2020.

Last one belongs to my wife and yes they said I can't update that one.

Wonder why now that they will only update when the passbook original owner is there. Any good reason? Or is it one of our stxxxx M'sia Boleh invention?

Cheerio.

congrats  rclxms.gif

looks like you're very busy "trying" amanah saham fund this year  brows.gif

Earlier i did not think about trying to top up is actually a good method besides the long queue at launching of new units.
Sekali dapat, now keep wanna do it again and again.

Congrats
Bro, u managed to buy RM15k single transaction in ASW2020 on 2/5/13
U bot from which Agents?
*
I think is RHB, that time (just before and after G election) was the best, I dapat till abit “worried” but still I put in whatever cash I had in hand then. At one of the visits, met a neighbour who was there busy selling his ASW2020, ASM etc, and he asked me “why u are buying, now people are all selling !” (preparing for possible change of govt….)

QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 24 2013, 09:20 AM)
Ai-yoh! Give some to me?  Ha.

What time did you go there?

I went there at about 245 pm yesterday.

Cheerio.
*
Take some never mind.
I checked my yellow slips, the time were 14:42, 14:43,14:44, and also 14:45:19 , must be just slightly earlier than you.
Today I may go to mbb again and try after this.

You are really good in this. Not so lucky for me after trying 3 times! Wasting petrol, parking tickets, my time, my energy, my ??? etc etc . Ha.

Is there a max limit where you cannot top up anymore?

You must be wondering why am I asking this when I can't even get available units to top up. Ha.

Cheerio.

P/S Just realised that one may read my question wrongly, thinking I want you to stop buying once you hit the limit. No. I just want to know if there is a limit. In the early days, the initial purchase limit was RM50k per person. No idea on whether there is a limit on further topping up. Please share for those who know. Thanks.
*
Is there a max limit?, above 50k they still allow me to top up, may be 100k I don’t know…

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 25 2013, 02:03 PM)
Great
Intend to try top up in afternoon?
*
No la, I don’t go solely just to top up ASM, where got so much time…….. That RM500 I got it when I was there to bank in a cheque.
But if it seems rather easy to strike nowadays, I don’t mind finding excuses to go to bank more often…
QUOTE(justin_5 @ Oct 26 2013, 05:14 AM)
guys.. a quick question.. those ASNB stuff.. got any which are capital guaranteed?
*
For the fixed price ASM,AS1M and ASW2020 I would think your money is very very safe la, is unwritten guaranteed. How could you lose money on these?? Just buy la, no worry. People are queing up to buy and you worry you cannot sell and get back your capital?

THere is a promotion at RHB, apparently it started from 1.8.2013 and ends this month. I just got to know it today when i went to RHB!
For those of you who have bought the ASM/ASG etc fund min 1000 units this month, you get 1 entry for lucky draw.
Better go buy from RHB.

In following this thread, noted that sellers are mostly those with AS1M and ASW2020. Why? Something not right / not secured with these units?

No ASM sellers?

Cheerio.

Are you sure no seller for ASM? i just got RM2000 x 3 on 29.10.13 for that ASM

QUOTE(plumberly @ Nov 4 2013, 03:13 PM)
Went to MayBank, kosong. Again!

Decided to go to the Post Office as tomorrow will be a holiday anyway.

Luck was on me this time. Got some for all the 3 (ASM, AS1M & ASW2020, total RM2000). The lady there was very helpful, checking for me numerous times. According to her, ASM has the most sellers (though I find it hard to get any).

Good to see friendly and helpful staff like the lady at the Post Office. Sorry, I did not get her name. Will do so the next time I go there.

Wonder why they need multiple purchases instead of one lump sum (e.g., 100+400+500 instead of one 1000). Can anyone help to clarify?

Thanks.
*
if you key in RM1000 buy and at that point in time only RM500 available, you wasted your chance, the teller tell you no unit available.
your buy "unsuccessful"

If you keyed in RM500 buy and you got it, sure you wanna buy more, thats' why you see the RM500 + 500 +....

Pro and cons for big amount attempt and small amount attempt.

Big amount attempt - less chance to get, for 2 reasons
1)not many people wanna sell what more big amount.
2)Bank teller usually lazy to help you bid repeatedly by reducing your bids again and again. If you start with RM2000, do you think she will try for you 5 x eg failed at RM2000, then try at RM1000, 500, 300, and 100?

the gd thing about it is if you strike, you get to buy a large sum then.

Small amount biddings eg RM100 has better success rate, is easier to get.But if you start at RM2000 bidding,
i doubt the teller actually tries for you at RM100 even though she tells you she had tried.

the bad thing about small amount bidding is even if there is a big amount sell on the other side eg RM20000 , how much can you grab with each attempt at RM100? at most you get to buy 3 or 4 times only, the units would have been all snapped up by then.

Thanks, guy3288, for the overview. You know the system well.

I take it then if 10 people sell RM500 each at 900 am (total RM5000), I will not be successful if I put in RM5000, or RM2000 or RM1000, right?

Also not successful at RM100?

If no to all the above, why? It is as if it is selling from seller A to buyer B (#1) , the amounts must match, and not seller A to ASNB and then ASNB to buyer B (#2).

If it is #2, then ASNB will accumulate the "sellings" and buyers can buy whatever ASNB has accumulated.

#2 can be good and bad. Good for big buyers like you who will sapu whatever ASNB has accumulated and bad for small ants like me with nothing left. Ha.

Cheerio.
*
i dont have insider info. but i believe if there are 10 sellers, each selling RM500 all at the same time and you are the first person to bid for RM5000 you will get it.
If your first attempt is bidding only RM2000, you should also get it. I dont think the system requires a perfect seller-buyer match. But i do know you just cant buy direct from that seller as i was standing side by side with a seller over the next counter the other day. It all goes into the system and then we buy from the system. yeah i think the system will pool whatever units sold together and sell whatever units available .

we need luck to bid exactly at the time when there is adequate unit available.

Dun think is workable
Some Ppl insist specific amount (i.e. 1k) n they dun want if the amount is lower (i.e. 800)
*
i dont understand what you mean.

For me if i want to buy RM1000, and no 1000units avaialable, and the teller manage to buy RM800 for me, i would be very happy to accept.

i agree with ronnie that ASNB should change the system to sell whatever units available to the buyer rather than the eaxact amount "ordered"
then the teller need to key in only 1 time for each buyer, save energy and time.

i think it only happens if the bank teller knows you well. and willing to do the 'extra' to help you buy.
They had done that for me before , passed the cash to her, tell her to try buy whenever she is free, but not anymore.

Usually they wont take that risk. in case payment does not come in time, her balance wil be left hanging, and cant close for the day.
It's more and more strict now, hard to do the back door way now.

my books are left with the bank clerk. I never withdraw before, so just wanna ask.

Do they need our IC, or thumbprint to make withdrawal from the ASM,AS1M or ASW2020 book? i think they sure need signature on withdrawal form, but not sure about the above 2 extra...

PS: I wonder if that guy who said he left his book with the bank clerk, i wonder how much he managed to top up so far...
