I can't seem to help but see the blame being put on bumi's for not saving in ASB. I think people need to understand that a majority of bumi's are struggling economically just to put food on the table never mind save/invest.

Bumi's have the highest number of people living either at or below the prescribed poverty line in the ratio amongst the races. They also represent the majority of those with the lowest household income both in terms of median and mean scales.

When one struggles with rising inflation, depressed wages and high cost of living, even those living in big cities would struggle. And how about those living outside the big cities? When we're in their shoes, the priorities are different.

And also please stop repeating the same comment over and over again. ASB is an open ended fund and can never be fully taken up unlike the other funds. Even if each and every single Malaysian bumi maxed out their ASB accounts, the fund will still be available.

case example: golden churn butter. the best and most delicious butter in the world. malaysia say haram. i say fark it. i still eated it. it's a mafakin butter. for god's sake

forced saving is a nice way to name it

but it comes with lots of caveats - you miss a few months payments, the interest / penalty will be accumulated for the rest of the loan tenure

sometimes, delinquent end users will have their BLR-1.65% reverted to 0%, and in some extreme cases, BLR + 1.0%

and the ASB loan will somehow affect / reduce your loan amount eligibility for you to finance properties
just be careful with the ASB loans. it's a good thing when everything is good. but when you suddenly need money and can't pay for the loan once or twice, the effects will ripple for the whole 25 years.

simplifying things up, the dividends generated for 10 years would "only worth" 21k? (71k - 50k)

doesn't this mean that reducing the principal will be the more logical choice? it'd save you rm 34k vs rm 21k?

Same strategy with me, but my ASNB fixed price holdings still not sufficient enough...
