nobody is stopping anyone from converting to islam just for the sole purpose of being eligibile to invest in ASB. 

My mom helped my sis to open ASW2020 when it was launched many years ago. She asked me whether I want an account for myself, I told her just open 1 account, I can share with my sis. We didn't know it's so difficult to top-up later on. Now, even open an account also have to try luck. I'm sooooooo very regret, sighhhhhh.......

I can't seem to help but see the blame being put on bumi's for not saving in ASB. I think people need to understand that a majority of bumi's are struggling economically just to put food on the table never mind save/invest. I agree

Bumi's have the highest number of people living either at or below the prescribed poverty line in the ratio amongst the races. They also represent the majority of those with the lowest household income both in terms of median and mean scales. This one I'm not sure, but from my personal observation most already above poverty line

When one struggles with rising inflation, depressed wages and high cost of living, even those living in big cities would struggle. And how about those living outside the big cities? When we're in their shoes, the priorities are different. Almost everyone feels the rising cost of living, not only bumi

I'm sure that there are bumi's reading this thread and are feeling just as envious looking at non-bumi's having the opportunity to have funds to save/invest. They would have the same feeling too don't you think? We struggle with our life, save bit by bit, searching for the best ROI & lowest risk to "support" our family. It's not we get "spoon-feed".

And also please stop repeating the same comment over and over again. ASB is an open ended fund and can never be fully taken up unlike the other funds. Even if each and every single Malaysian bumi maxed out their ASB accounts, the fund will still be available. Correct, "open" opportunity forever

I'm actually considering SSPN. I know it's launched awhile ago but I haven't made up my mind.
Maybe it's actually a good investment: tax relief and future PTPTN for my children.

But I've invested in UT and i do monthly averaging (is this how u call it?).

2007 Bank officer ask me to apply, I mention convert. She said convert can't apply.
So I went & bought property here & there ..
2011 My tenant ask me to apply, I told him convert can't apply.. He say YES you are entitled. Me = ???
I went & apply... the same bank officer process my loan. I thanked her for making the mistake & my tenant for telling me.
If I apply in 2007 I will re-draw every year to top-up next year..
Now I plan to let the dividend roll & roll ... re-draw when needed.

I heard that banks are going to cut on the ASB loan. No more ASB loan after this. Is that true? Or is it just a non sense rumors?

this is what i heard, they will open up loan for ASB2. ASB2 is not like ASB, it is not open ended where there is no fund limit. So first come first serves. Don't know how true is this though.

when you think about it , this is just the perfect push for people to invest, since first come first serve. if u late, u dont get anything. it is also perfect for the GOV to get fast fund, since people will rush to it.
