to most of them, perhaps.

but please refrain from being racist, this is not the thread / forum to be one.

nobody is stopping anyone from converting to islam just for the sole purpose of being eligibile to invest in ASB.  smile.gif

My mom helped my sis to open ASW2020 when it was launched many years ago. She asked me whether I want an account for myself, I told her just open 1 account, I can share with my sis. We didn't know it's so difficult to top-up later on. Now, even open an account also have to try luck. I'm sooooooo very regret, sighhhhhh.......

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Sep 25 2013, 10:15 PM)
I can't seem to help but see the blame being put on bumi's for not saving in ASB. I think people need to understand that a majority of bumi's are struggling economically just to put food on the table never mind save/invest. I agree

Bumi's have the highest number of people living either at or below the prescribed poverty line in the ratio amongst the races. They also represent the majority of those with the lowest household income both in terms of median and mean scales. This one I'm not sure, but from my personal observation most already above poverty line

When one struggles with rising inflation, depressed wages and high cost of living, even those living in big cities would struggle. And how about those living outside the big cities? When we're in their shoes, the priorities are different. Almost everyone feels the rising cost of living, not only bumi

I'm sure that there are bumi's reading this thread and are feeling just as envious looking at non-bumi's having the opportunity to have funds to save/invest. They would have the same feeling too don't you think? We struggle with our life, save bit by bit, searching for the best ROI & lowest risk to "support" our family. It's not we get "spoon-feed".

And also please stop repeating the same comment over and over again. ASB is an open ended fund and can never be fully taken up unlike the other funds. Even if each and every single Malaysian bumi maxed out their ASB accounts, the fund will still be available. Correct, "open" opportunity forever

ASB is an open ended fund, it can never be fully subscribed even if cats grow horns wink.gif hahahahah, Nice one

well, there is always 2-side of a story  wink.gif

some have the bullets but no target, some have targets but no bullets, some even ignore the target, and those who got the bullets and targets didn't shoot at all

I think I somehow understand what you trying to say.

1. Some got money, but don't invest

2. Some already identify the investment but no money

3. Some already know the investment very good, but chose to ignore it

4. Already got the money & identify the investment but No action taken

some people believe all sort of funny things if religion is included

case example: golden churn butter. the best and most delicious butter in the world. malaysia say haram. i say fark it. i still eated it. it's a mafakin butter. for god's sake
but anyhow, the letter doesn't come from Fatwa Council. And most insiders will know where ASB incomes are generated from... wink.gif
*
SO the letter is fake lar. Tis not the reason nod.gif hmm.gif

The golden churn butter very good eh, I never eaten before

so I opened individual accounts for my children and myself when we got the chance to get ASM  smile.gif

Good, at least you did the right decision for your children by opening ASM.

Lesson learned - when got any opening for new scheme, even no enough money, try buy min rm100 just to get the passbook nod.gif

Yup there's sukuk simpanan for 3 years term only. Max 50k for under 55 & 100k for above 55. Guarantee dividend rate of 5%p.a paid every Q to your bank account. Now already matured. No more the scheme.

Yeah, will wait for the next sukuk fund

I'm actually considering SSPN. I know it's launched awhile ago but I haven't made up my mind.
Maybe it's actually a good investment: tax relief and future PTPTN for my children.

But I've invested in UT and i do monthly averaging (is this how u call it?).
Hmm... still thinking still thinking...  hmm.gif
*
What you think is the best for you, just go.

About UT investment, It's called Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) or in Malaysia (RCA). UT is also good investment but the variable pricing may pose some risk. It's depend timing.

2007 Bank officer ask me to apply, I mention convert. She said convert can't apply.
So I went & bought property here & there ..
2011 My tenant ask me to apply, I told him convert can't apply.. He say YES you are entitled. Me = ???
I went & apply... the same bank officer process my loan. I thanked her for making the mistake & my tenant for telling me.
If I apply in 2007 I will re-draw every year to top-up next year..
Now I plan to let the dividend roll & roll ... re-draw when needed.  icon_rolleyes.gif
btw bro what is the meaning of "biar papa asal gaya"..

this is what i heard, they will open up loan for ASB2. ASB2 is not like ASB, it is not open ended where there is no fund limit. So first come first serves. Don't know how true is this though.
*
The not "open ended" fund thing is correct.

Stopping ASB loan & open ASB2 loans I'm not so sure hmm.gif

when you think about it , this is just the perfect push for people to invest, since first come first serve. if u late, u dont get anything. it is also perfect for the GOV to get fast fund, since people will rush to it.
*
Maybe true. When got limited time, naturally people would "rush" to get it hmm.gif

But according to Moderator - Lucifah, BNM recommends the termination of ASB financing as it is "damaging" to the ASB system itself nod.gif
