Windows Firewall only blocks inbound threats and not outbound. In terms of blocking inbound threats, I don't see it to be any weaker as compared to other firewall software but not outbound threats.

However, I use it instead of any other firewall software since it gives decent enough protection.

The next version of Windows Firewall would probably be a more fully featured firewall.
