depend power setting of the book... in safe power mode it last 3hour 30 minute...

It does have a short battery life. It is not abnormal, but disappointing. Full HD, 15.6", backlit keyboard and strong GPU just sucks up alot power

BTW, if you are interested in big, full HD screen with decent battery life, probably you could consider the GS70

Hi guys, for those of you who own the GS70, do you suffer from any squeaky keys when using the keyboard? My spacebar seems to be particularly squeaky at times and I'm not sure if this should be a cause for concern. Thanks in advance! (:

Not sure what is your graphic designer scope, perhaps I suggest you get an I7 combo with any GPU above GTX860M or equal.

But bear in mind, look for at least some level of cooling performance, new GE is a good choice but there is slightly decrease in cooling performance. I know this bcs in China forum they reveal the inner part of GE. Otherwise, wait for GX with new Kaveri mobile APU, but may be 1 or 2 months.

To all GS60 users here, how are you guys finding the track pad with regards to sensitivity for small precise movements? (Clickpad)

To all GS70 users (I am assuming they're using the same Clickpad), how are you guys finding it with regards to the sensitivity for small precise movements?

Secondly, anyone with any solutions to the issue?

I am finding the GS60's Clickpad unusable as it is currently. I am finding too many accidental edge swipes and movements from the one piece design.. not to mention sensitivity for small slow & precise movements shit.. aka trying to slowly click on a small check box etc.

have been using mouse since 1st day brought it... i think the msi mousepad is quite well known to have this problem...

Problem 1: Multi-Touch Interference
The click button is hidden under the actual touchpad. When you are not clicking, the space where the button is, is used as the touchpad allowing for movement.

The problem is while you are moving the cursor around with one finger, and you use another to click, occasionally it will register as a multi-touch input instead of a click.

Example would be accidental opening of the side charm bar, or zooming/rotating.

Bearable Workaround 1: Disabling the Multi-Features
You can disable the side charm bar/zooming etc, so that does make thigns more bearable.

Problem 2: Sensitivity Part A
Note: This issue is only for users who use high sensitivity. Aka 50-100% marker.
The sensitivity of the touchpad causes two issues. The first is, it does not detect small movements well, either that or, it does not translate small movements well.

The problem is obvious when you try to make very small movements, and I am talking about movements like trying to draw a circle of 1-2mm in size on the touchpad with your finger.

How does this affect your usage?
When using the touchpad trying to click on small icons/links/checkboxes etc.. or even trying to move the cursor to correct mistakes when you're typing.

Work around? None. This is the one that's irking me at the moment. While disabling palm detection, maxing out the sensitivity does give a smoother illusion, the problem is still there. BUT.. this is only an issue for users who use high sensitivity. If your sensitivity is at the 1-30% marker, you won't notice it.

Problem 3: Sensitivity Part B
The touchpad is hit and miss on the issue on multi-touch gestures. You have options of having two fingers tap etc to perform shortcut tasks. I set two-finger tap as my middle mouse button. This worked well on the GE40, but on the GS60 it's unreliable.

so is this freezing thing very frequent? does it happen to all msi nvidia 800 laptop???

i m planning to buy a gaming laptop and msi is in my list, but after reading all this i m reconsidering now.

For the first one, I suspect it might the pre-installed apps running on background, like Dragon Army Center, Killer Gaming, the steelseries stuffs.
